PLEASE implement faults
this feature would be nice, so it will allow to do some nice free kicks, and even penalties. That's a big part of soccer (football).
And it will avoid endlessly tackles...
Who seconds this ?

I originally thought this should happen, too, but someone mentioned that this could really weigh down gameplay with a lot of faults. Admittedly, the players would likely adapt, however, it probably would change the feel of the game from an arcade-type to a simulator. I'd like to see this feature tested before implementation.

What if there was an option to create two different types of games using either ruleset?

nah it wont do any good to this game.
1. Slide tackle would be useless as most tackle are made from behind or side
2. Lot of time spent on free kick rather than play
3. Some players would evolve into free kick specialist (100% freekick would be goals)
4. Most important !!! It would promote solo actions rather than team play to score a goal.

I think it should be implemented, but only if you slide tackle without hitting the ball. Aka just obliterating the player.

I think implementing that would totally kill the flow of the game tbh. Would be constant stoppages because sliding is a massive part of the game and is what is fun about it. Let's remember this isn't a football simulator - it's more of an arcade game.

No. Every fault will be goal.

Nice arguments there guys.

I'd like to have them as an option, and a permissive system where only tackles where the player doesn't touch the ball would be punished.

balance with vip players does not exist, if you implement faults it would be worse
