Locked out of account (2FA I never enabled) – now no access to game or website
Hey everyone,

I'm dealing with a serious issue with my Escape from Tarkov account and I’d like to know if anyone has gone through this.

About a week ago, I still had access to the game and could log in normally through the launcher.

The only problem was the website — it was asking for a mobile authenticator (2FA) that I NEVER enabled and don’t have access to.

Because of that, I couldn’t:

log into the website
change my password
manage my account

So I contacted support to recover access.

After that, I lost access to EVERYTHING.

Now I can’t log into the launcher or the website anymore. It seems like the account got locked during the recovery process.

At this point:

I have no access to the 2FA
I can’t reset my password because of the 2FA
I’ve completely lost access to the account

Has anyone experienced this?

Did support remove the 2FA for you?
How long did it take?
What kind of proof did they ask for?

I’m starting to think my account may have been compromised since I never set up 2FA myself.

Any help or shared experience would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

Go to the people who make it, not steam. It's not rocket science.

Hey there.

But did you get a response? Or did 2FA get enabled before you could? If so, I suggest contacting support via email. These articles should be of help:

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Yes, the 2FA was already enabled before I could access the account, and I never set it up myself.

I’m already in contact with support and provided all the required information, including logs and proof of ownership. Now I’m just waiting for their response.

Appreciate the help.

I have a similar problem. I used to log in using a code sent to my email, but the emails stopped coming through—they were experiencing a technical issue on their end. There was a button to switch to an authenticator app, and—foolishly—I clicked it. Now I have no idea where to get the required code, and I can no longer log in via email. I tried emailing their support team, but I haven't received a response. I also submitted a bug report, and they actually replied to my ticket; the catch, however, is that I can't read their response because I can't log in to the website. Since they clearly didn't resolve my issue, I assume their reply was along the lines of, "This is your problem."

Good day!

I can't suggest much apart from waiting for a response. Browse through this article just in case: https://www.escapefromtarkov.com/support/knowledge/454
