How to unlock the different traders?

Does anybody who knows this mind posting? I'm looking for the specific requirements if you don't mind.

I'm relatively new, level 8 with my PMC but I've mostly been doing scav runs just to learn the maps and start trying to collect stuff without losing all of my good gear.

I only have access to the beginning 3. Fence, ragman, and therapist

You unlock more traders by completing the main story quests. Run your PMC for the quests.

Okay, thank you for the answer. Is this the only way to do it? I'm fine with doing quests, but I kind of just like playing to play. Like I didn't necessarily want to follow any story at least yet until I get better.

Does level have anything to do with it?

yes level and story line visit traders. You can try to do tour quest to open maps, but traders follows up the story line.

but not having some kind of guidance is not realistic, In real life a soldier can use a REAL MAP and more (GPS, phone calls, etc)

we even have access to phones in this game, but its too unrealistic to add some kind of compass HUD or map or phone to pull up in game

The game features both a compass and maps. These are all real items that you need to take with you on a raid. You can even make markers on the map in the game.
