Disc read error "patch_common_mp" [FIX INSIDE] V.3

Anyone else getting this when trying to start their game?

EDIT: According to many people you need to install Single Player version too! I just did this and now it works for me!

EDIT 2: Seems like the problem is back again after latest patch for some people.

Edit 3: 5GB update made it possible to remove Singleplayer and multiplayer should work anyways, which I did and now the game works just fine!

If you're still having problem try to verify cache.
Other than that I do not know what to problem is, sorry.


EDIT 4: Players have reported that if you did install Singeplayer, delete it. Now verify Multiplayer and a 5gb should start and it should work.

i have downloaded singleplayer but it still doesn't work.. Howerver i went to try out the campaign and i got a killhouse error? is that why multyplayer doesn't work?? and how do i fix it

Singleplayer is no-longer required to play Multiplayer, a 5GB update was released earlier today that resolved the "patch_common_mp" error.

If you haven't downloaded the 5GB update, restart Steam or verify the game cache.

Game still works for me after 5gb update. Will remove Singeplayer and see it it still works. Thanks for info!

After uninstalling Singeplayer the game still works for me at least. 5gb update fixed it!

I've had singleplayer AND multiplayer installed for a while. Now MP doesn't work, but SP does. What's the deal ?

I did install the SP yesterday and worked! Todeay I try to play the game and guess what, the problem returned.... :-( I will be waiting for a fix...

I had the same issue, try uninstalling Single player and then verifying multiplayer game cache. Hope this helps.
