Modern warfare remastered shader preload
Hello everybody.
I've got a lenovo y50 and decided to play cod 4 remastered multiplayer. I notoced that it wanted to preload some shaders and so, i let it do it. What i experienced after was the same "hitching" as they call it, as if i hadn't preloaded the shaders. I redid the preload, but it did not help. I only experience this hitching the first minutes of every tdm game, as if it's loading the shaders. That's why i think it might have something to do with it. It didn't matter if i lowered the graphics, it still happened on every map the first minutes, then it was fine the other 6 minutes of the tdm match. It's really annoying and i posted this to get some help to resolve it. In my belief, it plays as if it hasn't done the shader preload, even if i clearly have done it. My gpu driver is up to date, and my cpu driver is aswell. Here are my laptop specs

Cpu: core i5 4210H
Gpu: GTX 860M
8 GB RAM
500 GG SAMSUNG 850 EVO SSD

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Preload the shader. Then when you play, the first time on each map you have to load them, for 1-2 minutes the CPU at 100%. But it should not happen the next time you play that map. CPU should be working <100% without lag.

Medi, the problem is that it still occurs, even the games after after the first one (on the same map)

It's just like Pubg was at the beginning, poorly designed and wouldn't run smooth at all

I noticed it does hitch in mp just like you said. Hmmmmmm... "Should not happen the next time you play that map" Does it happen when after you quit to menu and then load map again?

I have not tried loading the map again. I wish i had a 500gb SSD

Yes it does happen again after i quit to menu and load the map again. This shader preload worked on Infinite Warfare, but on MWR it just doesn't do anything

I was having the excate same problem you were having. Game keeps semi-freezing as it caches/loads sections of the map.

I turned off all caching (shaders, shadow spot and sun) and the problem completely went away.

Good for you, for me it did not

You can scroll down in the advanced video options while in game. I did not notice this at first. There are heaps of graphic options if you scroll down in the games menu.

Some simple steps to fix the hitching in multiplayer and overall general smoother SP experience.

https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/110603/en-us

Let it do shader pre caching after driver install

i chose to fill remaining video memory

fixed my issue completly

1st of all, that driver is old. 2nd of all, nobody really plays this game anymore. I wished this issue was fixed when the game wasn't dead
