Cod4 Remastered - Do People Still Play It?

Asking this before I buy the legacy edition for cod4 remastered is it highly populated or are servers empty?

The game suffers from severe performance and connectivity issues and with so many users affected; the population is minimal. The daily average is about 1,500 with only TDM and DOM being the populated modes. Even TDM can only muster between 450-800 at best. Hackers are becoming a major problem also and as this game has no VAC support or anti-cheat present; it is only going to get worse.

I tried playing last night and the lag was an absolute nightmare even with a GTX 960, i5 49k and 16GB of RAM not to mention the latest drivers I could barely get it to function on the lowest settings. I'm going to reminise and play the SP campaign as well as IW's SP since I already paid for it. I plan on getting a GTX 1080 for myself on X-Mas so hopefully that will remedy the awful lag issues but the fact remains these companies couldn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about you or the consumer so they release it badly optimized.

A few here are complaining about performance issues but I've never had any even at release. The game lagged for a few seconds after map loading but seems to be fixed now.
I'm playing off an SSD, latest drivers, GTX 1070 and I used the Geforce experience settings which fixed everything up and looks great.
The game runs fine if you're not using a potatoe as a gaming rig, however, the "servers" are empty.
At least for me in NZ. TDM only, Dom if I'm lucky.
No team balance means that if a party of sweaty nerds or a hacker makes half the opposing team quit then you're likely to be dropped into a game were it's 6 v 2.

More are playing IW which isnt as bad as is made out.
The SP for both games almost makes it worth it but if you just want some COD4 then buy actual COD4. It has about 10x the player base, a server browser, 64 slot servers, mods and admins to remove degenerates.

Thing is people are using gaming rigs that are better than yours and are still having performance issues, even with GeForce Experience optimization. So yeah.. Congrats! You're one good/decent experience out of the crowds of others out there who are having major problems for little to no reason other than a poorly optimized and half-assed/rushed game.

Hopefully the SP is decent for either game and doesn't lag.

People having issues tend to concentrate here on the forums and it gives a false impression that the game doesn't work which simply isn't true for the silent majority.

I do feel for you not being able to play the thing properly and having no support.
The 1080 will solve your problems I'm sure but you could be having some kind of driver or software conflict?
Try updating all your drivers for all your hardware, flash your bios, clean install?

Dont listen to any of these ♥♥♥♥ tards dont buy the game i did and its garbage the guns animation is trash.. just the whole game to sum it up would be like a pre-pre-pre-pre-beta for bo3
buy bo3 (reasons) it never lags... when it does it gets fixed within 10 minutes! (servers are constantly full of people!) everyone is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ so you have the right to be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they keep adding to the game even today. They will continue to add for years to come i reccomend this game for a constant gamer who wants a hardcore lvling system pissed off people and determination... If you already have the game shut the ♥♥♥♥ up and start playing it.

The original Call of Duty 4 has Dedicated servers so it's not garbage, with over 1,500 servers still up, Even more if you count the modded ones, Call of duty 4 is still one of my favorite games, Played it since the day it came out. Only just recently bought a copy off of steam just to make it easier for reinstalls in the future because I didn't feel like personally downloading all of the Multiplayer updates and Punkbuster updates.

If you love badmins, trashy servers with lots of mods, and no PB (it's dead so you'd better hope an admin is online), you'll like it. Either way, just load it up on Steam and see for yourself.

CoD Remastered is closer to the console experience. Matchmaking, 12 player limit, no mods, and likely no dedis, however it does feature lean.

I mostly bought this on PC to enjoy CoD4 on the PC outside of some YoLoSwag420MLG mod servers.
