Re: Mouse Functionality in MWR Multiplayer - My FIX
Problem Description: Singleplayer works fine... however in a Multiplayer match you are unable to free look with the mouse, looking down is fast, looking up is slow and there is no side-side movement, mouse works fine in menu screens.

Video of problem as described:

Guys, I tested the $h!t out of this... hours, days... I've owned this game for weeks now and I haven't been able to play it, only reason I ordered IW ;)

I noticed that in the multiplayer client, my screen resolution was 2550x1440 in Fullscreen (Windowed) mode, I could NOT get in regular Fullscreen mode, not for nothing! vsync was also locked on. I was able to swtich to plain window mode and it seemed while "playing" the mouse was stuck in the top left corner of the screen when the game client was the active window.

Things that didn't help (as far as I can tell): Changing mouse accelleration settings via launch switches, disableing Teamviewer "QuickConnect" Button, uninstalling Teamviewer (I had had previous interferance from TV, so it was my first suspect)

"something" was keeping MWR from displaying in Fullscreen (non-windowed) mode. No matter the resolution I set the game to, various graphics or mouse settings, it was stuck in either Windowed or Fullscreen (Windowed) modes.

The Fix...

I fix computers for a living and I have some 'freedoms' at work, like bringing in my own rig for testing purposes ;) my 60lb 4U rack chassis hehehe

So before I did anything I wanted to reproduce the problem. So I hooked up one of my bench monitors, nothing special, just an Acer 17" 1920x1080 display (DVI)... standard Microsoft mouse and keyboard, network cable.

Fire up the machine, launch steam, launch MWR...
lo and behold it's just working... my mouse is free-looking around in a multiplayer (private) match.

My monitor at home is some weird 27" Flat panel display from China that my brother bought me, DVI only connection, 2550x1440 Native resolution.

First thing I thought of is the resolution or aspect ration differences in the monitors, I was completely unable to replicate the problem regardless of graphics settings on this Acer display. Furthermore, I noticed that the game launched in Fullscreen mode and vsync was disabled...

Normally I'd wait until the end of the day to go home and test my luck... but I went on lunch... Got home, hooked everything back up as it was originally.

Fire up the machine, launch steam, launch MWR...
lo and behold it's just working...again... in 2550x1440 resolution in Fullscreen mode... I can toggle any resolution up to 36xxXsomeothernumber, I can toggle Windowed, Windowless Fullscreen, no settings are locked on me.

I have been unable to replicate the original problem with the mouse since bringing the machine home so... here is my hypothesis.

Initial install, with super high res display? Maybe isn't triggering 'something' in the graphics config? Perhaps something about my odd monitor didn't quite jive with MWR upon initial set up and it got hung up and was unable to process all the settings.

The introduction of a new (lower res) display allowed MWR to complete a full graphics configuration? I don't know, I don't care... it's working. Yay! Sorry for the long winded post, I hope this information helps someone.
