Yeah no. I bought the game once before Purely for the campaign and was not able to get it to even launch the game.

it is, the fix for me was to boot windows into safe mode (use msconfig and set to safe boot/networking), then launch both the campaign AND multiplayer executables via steam, and switch the display mode for each from 'Fullscreen' to either 'windowed-borderless' or 'windowed'.

I also had to disable shader compilation.

PC Gaming Wiki has some of the other common error fixes listed there as well.

Can confirm this worked for me yesterday, didnt have to launch any single player campaign, went into safe mode for both windows and the game and was able to get to settings to disable shader comp.

exactly why I refunded the game, I was interested in replaying the old campaign but im not changing bios settings in order to do so.

as of today this is still an issue. even after all the solutions ive seen online regarding safe mode and disabling shaders, i cant even load into the game within safe mode either. idk what to do at this point tbh :(
