Can't launch the game
Hi All, Everytime I try to open this game, pop up box appears saying that the game did not close properly last time and gives me options to open it in safe mode or not. Whatever option I select it does not open. Tried re-installing it but same issue. Please help

Same. What is going on here?? I can run in safe mode, but as soon as I'm not in safe mode the game crashes as soon as I try to run it.

I got mine to work by changing from windowed to full screen... not sure why that worked.

I saw a lot of people also recommending turning shaders off to stop crashing. Might be worth trying too if you are able to get into the menus but you're still seeing crashing.

Hey! I've searched hours and hours for a solution but this one worked for me (I tried it a few times because it wouldn't work in the first place). I read about this solution a few times, but it didn't work for me until yesterday tho.

I run german windows, so I guessed what the options are called in english :-D

1. So, you reinstall a fresh copy of the game.
2. Afterwards you go to the steamapps/common/call of duty modern warfare remastered and delete the "players2" folder
3. Now you run your computer in safe mode with net settings. If you don't know how to do it, just press windows-key and type "msconfig". Afterwards go to the "start" tab and "select safe mode" and "network".
4. Restart computer in safe mode, run steam and run COD. This took me about 3-5 minutes, but eventually it started.
5. When the game has started, go to options and select "windowed" instead of "fullscreen".
6. Save, exit, start the pc again in normal mode (windows->msconfig->normal start)
7. Start steam, start the game, enjoy

(until you run into the next bug while starting the war pig mission, still trying to figure this one out)

Otherwise refund and play the original game, still the best, even after all these years.

I solved mine using Compatibility Mode. Right Click the Exe file (in program folder), click Properties - Click "Compatibility" , Check mark the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" choose Windows 8, then Click "OK". I hope it helps. Thanks.

Not quite, sorry. I don't have the source here, but try searching in the community hub for the solution for "the bog" bug. There should be a thread solving the most common problems, maybe one can help you.

I got the "out of memory" error when trying to start the game. I tried all the suggested fixes. For me solution was... getting a refund and trying the Windows Store version. And for some reason, that version works without any problems. I'm in the third mission now, no crashes yet.

But - it turns out I did need to disable shader caching in the graphics options before I could enter The Bog mission. Other than that, no complaints so far.
