Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered (2017)

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered (2017)

View Stats:
Extreme Frame Rate Drops
My frames drops from 60 to 5.
I don't know why because CoD Infinite Warfare runs stable with Ultra settings and max. AA in 4k with stable 60 fps.

After reloading the level everythings fine, but a few minutes later...the same problem.
I play the game in 4k with no AA and the performance is worst then in Homefront: The Revolution.

i7 6700, GTX 1080
I have reinstalled the NVIDIA Driver, nothing changes...Can somebody help?

Thanks, but why is there such a difference between the two games? I mean IW looks much better and has a better performance then this remastered which looks really not up to date.

Because remastered was made by Raven ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, while IW was made by Infinity Ward

I am seeing some bizarre framerate fluctuations on my PC (i7-4770K, 16 GB, GTX 1080) on maxed out 2560x1440 settings with Native Rendering On and locked to 100%. When the game runs at 60 FPS (v-synced), GPU usage is around 50% at most with CPU usage around 40-45%.

The game is clearly not stressing the hardware yet the game seems to have severe problems holding a locked framerate. One second it will be 60 FPS then the next it is 22 FPS even though there's no more going on!!! It's utterly weird not helped by the fact that when I run the game looks like it is speeding up and slowly down (the running animation is almost comedic). The car cutscene started off at 60 FPS and then dropped to 18 then 5 FPS turning into a literal slideshow. VRAM usage was around 6.5 GB and neither the GPU nor CPU were being anywhere near maxed out. In fact, I can set the resolution to 3840x2160 and the game still runs EXACTLY the same!!!

It seems like this is yet another poorly optimised PC game which is baffling because the original runs perfectly on modern hardware. Yes, the graphics do look much better but since it is not stressing either the GPU or CPU on my system then way is causing this wildly wavering framerate? I don't understand what the bottleneck is... bad coding?

I just spent all morning doing my own testing...IW i am getting between 70-120 FPS all the time regardless of campaign/multiplayer/zombies and thsi is with all graaphics presets turned all the way upto ot max...

MWR runs between 5-10FPS regardless of the settings i use...and i am running a i7-4770K OC with a NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX TITAN BLACK SC and ive tried turning the settings all the way down to low and get the same if not worse performance...i thought id never be saying this but this is definelty the wosrst PC ports ive ever experienced!!!

This is way worse performance than Quantum break amd that game is broken beyond repair! :steamsad:

I am going to create an NVIDIA profile for the game, if there isn't one, because I noticed that my GTX 1080 was often dropping the GPU and VRAM clocks below even the baseline values because the game is not actually stressing the hardware.

My VRAM by default should be running at 5,005 MHz (10,010 MHz effective) at least or the overclocked 5,400 MHz I am using but in this game it drops to 4,900-ish. GPU speed can be 1,290 MHz, which is way below the baseline of 1,721 MHz for the FTW model I have.

Seens like Im not the only one with this problem. So we have to wait for an update, like in many other games.
I am using an NVIDIA GTX 960 on my Windows 10 PC. When the game first came out I had no problems with FPS rates with the exception of the first 10 seconds of some maps. Early April, after an Update to Windows, COD MWR, and NVIDIA I experienced the exact same issue you're experiencing. My FPS would drop from 92 to < 20 FPS (frustratingly unplayable) within the first 3-4 minutes I launched the game. After messing with all the in game settings and turning off the Nvidia and Xbox recording/payback features I saw no change. What I discovered? The issue was directly related to the NVIDIA driver. I rolled back my NVIDIA driver to the March 20, 378.92 driver. The game now plays consistently at full frame rate 90 - 92 FPS and at the optimal settings.

Be mindful Windows 10 will auto update these drivers.

I think much of the problems users are facing are related to the NVIDIA drivers. My bud who has similar FPS rate drop issues has a GTX 760 in which the 378.92 driver does not improve performance. He is still searching for his "optimal" driver.

I hope this works for others in our situation.

You have to go back to December 2016 Nvidia's Gameready Driver to get from 105 to 145 fps. The first Gameready driver released for supporting VR messed up this game and other games performances. Other games have solved thiis problem with theirs regular updates, but this game has not been updated for several months.

Problem is extremely simple to fix. Switch from fullscreen to borderless window. Single 980 Ti here and runs flawlessly. No framerate drops.

Just tried. Still getting that good old choppy 40 fps on my GTX 1080ti, i7 7700k, 32gb 2400mhz, SSD.
