Is this game dead?

Was thinking of buying this game not only because of the Campaign overhaul, but also because of the multiplayer experience. The game may be buggy, but if there are atleast someone still playing this game it might still be worth playing if I'm lucky.

(i would also really like to play Prop Hunt, since I never got to try it and no one plays it anymore in the old COD4)
Also, is the "Map DLC" worth buying? Are more people playing on those?

Edit: People say it's dead. Only buy if you want to play the campaign.

Dude i bought it hoping that i'd experience old school cod again, but this is an absolute ghost town.

i can find lobbies, its only 2 or 3 lobbies, if even, but i can still play MP, considering its closed to dead though, it might change at any given time.

Ive heard people saying that the MP has bots now? Is this true? Are they good enough to enjoy playing against?

i bought it cause i wanted to experiance the campaign mode again that gave me the most trouble on veteran when i was a child xD but yeah. multiplayer is pretty dead now. i hear MW2 is going strong tho

MW2 and 3 are both going strong, MW3 has some trouble finding lobbies because of internal issues, nothing too major though.

Well, it does in private match, but you cant progress at all, its just LAN against bots basically.

While you can still find a match at 95% off the day, i cant recommend buying it even though i love it. Maybe you can find it in a keystore for 15€ or so with IW, unless you buy it there, get MW2 or 3 instead. Beware, MW3 has an internal issue which sometimes more sometimes less, makes you take longer to find a match, if you are okay with that, get MW3, if you get triggered about this, get MW2. I personally dont think its an issue. Also, MW2 has a bigger issues with cheaters, i only have 2 hours playtime in MW2 and a Modder modded my stats to garbage.
In MW3 i have over 600 and barely ever meet a cheater, and no modders at all.

Since I already have MW2, would you recommend me to buy MW3, even though it has issues?
I of course won't buy it on the steam store without some kind of sale going on, btw. It's way too expensive for how long it's been since it got released.

I definetly recommend it, i grew up with MW3, playing it since release in 2011, and i still play it almost every day. And as i said, almost no cheaters. The matchmaking issues bored almost all of them off and only true fans are left mostly. Just go for a lobby, open steam overlay, watch a youtube video and wait a bit, when youre unlucky, youll have to wait around 10 minutes, but i almost always find a match within 2-5 minutes.

As you can see, in TDM youll be fine player wise, in most of the time, between 150-200 people also play domination, and around 50 in S&D, the rest ofcourse is dead sadly.
