Fresh install of the game (purchased legitimately directly via Steam, so there shouldn't be any of the region-related shenanigans going on), and still...
It just won't run.
I'm currently downloading some stuff in an attempt to solve this problem according to a theory I've hypothesized.
I will update here if it works.
Edit: I'll at least say that my theory involves a belief that the Steam download has, somehow, failed to include the appropriate language files required for boot up.
Infact, the game download from Steam included...
No language folder at all.
Unbelievable - I had to go and find the appropriate files via 3rd parties that're absolutely unrelated.
...Missing .bik video files.
*sigh*
Had to download those from 3rd party sources, too.
Frankly, I'm surprised the game even worked enough to go through the entire first mission, considering just how many missing files I'm dealing with here.
Edit: Same thing for Infinite Warfare as well.
