MW Remastered disc read error & tech issues
This game has been plagued with issues from the start. Now I cant even play because of the latest patch which causes the disc read error. Ive tried to get a refund from STEAM & Activision but both say they cant give me one. STEAM tells me to contact the retailer, Activision tells me that STEAM is the retailer. Spoke to someone from Activision and they havent even heard of this issue apparently. Somebody has to take responsibility and STEAM make it purposely difficult to get in touch with anyone, just an automated service that says I can't get a refund. $130 wasted. Will think very carefully before I purchase from either of these retailers again. Anyone have any idea what other options I might have before going to claims tribunal?

Did you even try to look in the forums for fixes? Or you just wanting to complain at the community?

To fix disc read errors;

1. Delete the game, and reinstall.
2. Verify integrity of game cache. (properties>local files>verify local cache)
3. Restart your PC.

That worked for me getting single player working again. You could also try just the verifying step, that might work as well.

Yeah I did but the bottom line is I don't want to have to do that. I just want a refund. There are no players online, the game wasn't worth the money and I'm entitled to a refund. If I thought it was worth it I would have done the fix and not even bothered posting here.

Yeah...I'm still having this issue as well. I verified the cache and restarted PC. No cigar. Then I, painfully, removed the game completely and reinstalled. (With my internet the download took nearly 30 days). I tried to load again after waiting the grueling download period but I get the same error every time I try to load the single player campaign mission, "aftermath." I'm disappointed because I bought it for nostalgic reasons and wanted to play it with my nephews, but now we can't play it together. Oh well. Lesson learned--I'm never going to buy another COD product.

Oh my gosh! Lol
I feel stupid haha! I had tried all my fixes on the single player game, and with my internet I kind of forgot the multiplayer existed...well, I remember now. Verified files on the multiplayer and it found 6 corrupt files...a quick restart and now the campaign works. Worth a shot if you're still having trouble.

I tried the verify local cache step first thing and it didn't do me any good. I played the game from scratch multiple times to make sure it wasn't an issue with the save game but that didn't help. I even reinstalled the game a few times to no avail. Then I reached out to Steam to get a refund but got an extremely robotic reply saying something about play time > 2hrs, and the exact same reply when I tried to follow it up with an explanation. It shouldn't matter what the play time is, given that this is plainly faulty product (my system is fairly high-end and evidently not the only one having this issue).
Is there even a way to talk to someone at Steam to make my case? Or is it just a bunch of robot stonewalls waiting on the other side of customer requests?
