Fix minimap?

Anyone knows how to fix the minimap? I just got the game but the minimap disorients me rather than help me, for example, I press rigth on the keyboard and the minimap shows me going up and to the left, anyway to fix that?

Rotate the camera using Q and E till it's oriented north to south or whatever direction works for you.
