This PlayOnline ID cannot be transferred

So, iam currently downloading the game now. I have a PlayOnline ID, a square-enix account. Ive already set up my billing INFO. I already provided my Card INFO in order to get a character slot. Now I try to link my playonline to my square enix account and I get that message. Im not sure if I need to transfer my playOnline account to my Square-enix account in order to play, but if so, can anyone shed some light on my situation?

how did you get a Playonline ID? i can't seem to get one without a playonline registration code..

I have the same problem. When I try to Join PlayOnline in the PlayOnline Viewer I get a message "You will need a Square Enix account to peform Playonline procedures. For details on transferring a PlayOnline ID, please refer to the folowing page.

So the intructions... "This PlayOnline ID cannot be transferred"

So frustrating.

Correct me if I'm wrong but are you two going to http://www.square-enix.com/na/account/ and clinking on the red link on left of page stating "Square Enix Account Register New Account"? Or have you been playing FFXI before?

I have a Square Enix Account.
I just bought the game, I haven't played it before.

After you enter your registration code that steam provided you with, ( assuming you bought the game from steam ) it will direct you to a page where you will be given a random PlayOnline ID and password. Square-Enix will also e-mail it to you as well. Thats your playonline ID info

I have the same problem! I was sent by play online with all the passwords, id PlayOnline, PlayOnline password, but when I enter to connect I get wrote: * You will no longer be atto use the PlayOnline Friend List Application oz the PlayOnline ID has been transferred.

This PlayOnline ID can not be transferred.
Please contact the Square Enix Support Center for further details.

is the first time I use Steam, and frankly I'm a bit disappointed!
