NOBUNAGA'S AMBITION: Sphere of Influence

How to type Ō (with macrons) in names?
When you create your own character here, sometimes you'll want to input a letter with macron (line above the letter) for it, like the ō in Hōjō inside this game.

The common way to type such unique letters in Windows is to use Alt+Keypad combination, but the problem here is that I use a laptop which doesn't have a keypad. CTRL+V-ing from outside text don't seem to work either, so are there any other available ways?

I've tried searching first and I thought I almost nailed it when I found out about Maori keyboard, but when I tried typing with it, the game outputs ? (the question mark) instead, so I'm at a loss here...

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

It should still work with the standard number keys above the QWERTY keyboard, shouldn't it? If not then there's no other way besides a keyboard.
How number keys can let you type an Ō? I can do ö or ó or even ç, but not the ō. Besides, none of those are supported by the game's font, unlike macrons.

Worst case scenario, if you're really desperate for macrons, you can try to install a Keyboard Layout that has easy access for them.

Thanks for the tip, I didn't know where to look. Need to fix the mess that are my keyboard layouts now... Though am not sure if the macrons used in game are same ones WIndows uses and not specially coded symbols. They do that stuff.

Just tried installing the Alt-Latin keyboard, and it works like wonder. Thanks so much :)

The download URL in Ellye's wikipedia link is dead though, so I got it from here instead. I pick the one compatible for Windows 7 & beyond.

The layout is a bit different though in the game. In my keyboard Alt+y produces Ō (the capital one), and Alt+9 makes ō (the small one).
Thanks so much, now I can make proper clan members ingame! BTW, you're BlackKite from YouTube? I am running a DW8: Empires campaign which has gameplay of some of the CAW characters you posted (Like Ma Teng, Han Sui, Gongsun Zan etc.) I didn't know how to message you about that in case you wanted to know.

As I said, they were likely to be coded differently, to type them normally with that layout, you are supposed to input Alt+a, then o or u to get the ō or ū... But in-game the Ō's replace the ª and ¥ symbols. Alt+3 for Ū, replacing the £ and Alt+u for the little ū, which replaces the umlaut (used to type Mötorhead, Mötley Crue etc.)

Just note to use the RIGHT Alt key.
