Short List of Castle Name Changes and Fortresses changing to Castles..
So,

Figured we can start new thread on triggers for name changes in castles and what castles eventually become a Castle from a Fortress... So far he's what I've encountered, it's a rather short list at the moment , but perhaps it can grow in time, heh...

Oda:

Inabayama to Gifu (Saito Clan) --> Have Nobunaga conquer Inabayama trigger should happen.

Odani to Nagahama (Azai Clan) --> Have Nobunaga conquer Odani, you also probably need to make sure you have Hideyoshi as one of your retainers.

Kiyosu becomes a Castle from a frotress (Blue Oda Clan) --> Another easy trigger just get Nobunaga to conquer that as well.

Tokugawa:

Hikuma becomes Hamamatsu (Imagawa Clan) --> Have Tokugawa conquer Hikuma, which leads to the name change after with a rather funny comment from the Soldier he was talking too, heh.

That's all I've found now, but as I've look at other scenarios start dates I've noticed a name change of Ishiyama Castle (Hojoganjii Lands) and also the main castle that's in Asakura lands, so wonder what those triggers could be.

Takeda Clan also looks to have some sort of castle related event, though I have not seen it trigger yet of Katsurao Castle getting a name change to Kaizu and just becoming a fortress, and Toishi Fortress becomes the New Castle of North Shanino.

Maybe it perhaps requires placing one of the Sanada's in there for that to trigger.

Anyone else found stuff, post here I'll update the main list.

There is an event where Hideyoshi changes Ishiyama temple to Osaka Castle which just involves Hideyoshi owning said castle much like the Oda ones.

Also, Katsurao and Kaizu are 2 totally different places just some scenarios has one, the other, or both, similar to Suemori castle in Owari, some scenarios it exists other scenarios it dont unless u build it yourself
Also same with Tsutsujigasaki palace, it only exists in the scenarios up to 1577 where the Takeda own Kai, but starting from 1582 onwards when it under possession of the Tokugawa, that castle along with Nakano are gone from Kai and Shinpu replaces as the new Kai capital.

How about Edo Castle? Also Nijo Palace, in the previous installment it's called Muromachi Palace before it was change to what it is now.

if memories serve, i don't think there were name change events for nijo palace in previous games. i think in previous games, starting in different years might have given you different names though, seeing as muromachi period refers to when Ashikaga clan holding the shogun position. unless i suppose it was triggered by a seige from Matsunaga Hisahide / Miyoshi Yoshi-tsugu (<- not sure why 5 letter plural was censored but not 4 letter singular) and death of Ashikaga Yoshiteru. usually i think in koei games the different names are used in different scenarios that bracket that point. that said, a look at wiki (english version) says nijo was built by ieyasu when he was shogun, though the chinese wiki says nijo castle specifically refers to that, but is also broadly/generally refers to castles inhabited by Ashikaga Yoshiteru, the one built for Ashikaga Yoshiaki by nobunaga (and razed by nobunaga) and another one built by nobunaga and given to the court. all rather moot in this game as it says nijo in earliest period this time.

i would imagine there should be a Kannonji -> Azuchi at some point when playing as nobunaga (that happens in every nobunaga/taiko game), possibly a Fushimi in later scenarios

note that ingame name change does not necessarily denote name change irl. Gifu was a name change (+renovation) irl, whereas Azuchi was a brand new one rather than name change.

Not sure about Edo, Ieyasu was supposed to make it his base after moving to the Kanto region. If the scenario start date where he fights Uesugi shows Edo as a castle instead of a fortress, that means there should be an event somewhere to trigger the change i guess.

There's an Ukita event that makes Okayama the castle for Bizen, though I'm not certain about it's triggers.
