I mean, the original RTK6 in particular is probably the easiest strategy game Koei has ever done due to how exploitable the game mechanics and bad AI were.
Try to change difficulty settings and/or clan/scenario.
Also, the game can get crazy with HUGE armies and coalitions once the major factions get big, have you reached that point?
Seriously he should play around with the diffulty settings a bit, because I think he's playing a different game from everyone else.
Agreed, 6 might be my favourite but you know a game is easy when winning as Liu Du is not even that hard.
Also, joining coalition + having a coalition against you are bad .... there are some restriction in those but you probably haven't reach that point yet.
Also, RTk6 is easy, Liu Du isn't that hard, those guy in the south are harder I think, Yang Bai ~_~, they are crap .
CIV5 was harder for me because it was longer or time consuming to conquer all the establishment/city in the late game even with nuke since war is expensive as upkeep as well.
In this game which I really enjoyed so much(planning to play the story mode next time), once you established your clan and make multiple provinces and issue an order to the province which to conquer, the game starts to become easier. My clan has 6k-24k soldier per city with total of 500k+ soldiers., 2nd largest clan has 200k+ soliders
I joined coalition, infact I am the one who starts coalition against large clan and make small clan my vasal/ally then betray and conquer them after a while and other large clan are in friendly terms with me because of marriage.some leaders of the clan like oda became my officer and we became a power team with 24k solider(1 unit) at our disposal and 3 officers with 100+ le/va power, with a backup of 17k and 14k soldiers, We can conquer multiple cities already and so on.
I did not experience being betrayed during war which does happen on RTK6 so maybe its just me, i'll try to max the difficulty setting since I am using the default setting
- the turrent isnt that powerful(maybe they should improve this)
- they should probably add an upkeep cost for solider
- betraying province
- officer loyalty should be harder to raise
- a mother in a custom character
- attacking tribe ( the tribe just support who has a higher appease) would be nice if they randomly attack you
i'll think of some other things after I finish the game again at max difficulty with the worst clan
Sorry i meant the A.I Level and aggression max then everything is still mid, making them have better harvest, labor, etc just feel not fair or realistic then start on Struggle with Power(yes i love starting with one castle/fortress)
I play Mogami on extreme and doing battle against the Imagawa, I turn his army of total troop count from 900k to 760k right now, and I only have 200k, but he is reducing my troops by sending massive wave of army ~_~.
I was able to whoops Katsuie Shibata back to his castle, he got like 11k vs my 2k total for 2 units, that was tough .
It's much easier if you have your daimyo like Kenshin (his start stats is already 9x), there is no challenge. I am employing him and Shingen now, since their clan is wipe out.
Usually the Hojo destroy the Takeda before the Uesugi even get to fight them. Plus, it doesn't help that the Takeda are literally surrounded on all sides by powerful clans seeping away at their strength.
They actually were known to have some of the best horses in the land, and were rather famous for their cavalry. Also, that region of Japan IS mountainous, but the scale makes it seem a little narrow. I'm not Japanese, but that's what I've gathered from research.
Also, it would make it seem like there are no safe route, unlike Shogun 2 or ealier Nobunaga game there are safe route to go to, this one you are trap. I seen Takeda got trap by Hojo and pushing back to their last castle.
some minor factions surrounded by big factions can still be won if u start the game by submitting yourself to the biggest guy nearby for protection.
But for a real challenge for people who "whine" that the game is too easy... are u even playing on extreme difficulty or are u beating the game on hard with a powerful clan and already think you are hot $hit?
