NOBUNAGA'S AMBITION: Sphere of Influence

Anyone ever play Inindo Way of the Ninja
I play this game like 8-10 years ago, it was one of the best game KOEI had ever put on a NES but I play the ROMS since you can't even find it anymore. I don't know what happen to the team that make it but they were awesome even till today. This is like Nobunaga's Ambition + Taiko Risshiden. In short it was what all of these game suppose to be like if they combine.

Short summary:
You are a wandering samurai/ninja looking for a master to serve, you gain trust by support the master you want to serve, do his bid, gain status, then conquered another province while watching historical event unfold.

So literally, I could be saving Oda Nobunaga life on his Honnoji Temple's assassination, then again you are changing history and thus changing the outcome of the current and future event. This game was the first one I see talking about the 5 Masamune samurai sword which the Date family owning one. In this NA 14, I have a historical quest about getting 5 samurai sword but I dont know if those are the same one since the name in NA 14 doesn't ring a bell to me :D.

Also, this game is what a ninja game should be, sabotage, assassin, spy, rumour .... yeah, love it, graphic kinda old but game play is top notch.

there are many Koei games never translated in english off course, I hope that recent commercial outcome on steam can give little chance to see other koei classic gems on steam.

This one is fully translate + RPG aspect back in 1991, now that is a rare gem right there . It's funny that you can wander around the country side and encounter someone like Hatorri Hanzo or Miyamoto Musashi and asking yourself ... Should I kill him or be friend with him ?

Oh yeah I remember this game. It's a lot of fun, though it really needs a remake to give it some non-awful graphics and fix its design problems.

While you doing that, download NES emulator and play Shingen the Ruler, you are playing as Takeda Shingen and take over Kanto area, pretty fun game back then :D. You start at level 1, Oda the boss is level 49, Hojo is level 15-20 .... fun stuff, it had some strategic moment :D . Smoke is rising from one of your castle, enemy are attacking, prepare to send in reinforcement :D.

If I remember correctly in that game you start as a villager or a ninja and your town gets burned down by Oda Nobunaga so you are out for revenge against him.

Yup, you start off as a ninja of iga right after Oda's invasion of Iga in 1581. It was the game that first introduced me to the sengoku jidai period. My end game party was always an all Iga team of the PC, Hattori Hanzo and Momochi Tanba/Sandayu

Nice, I remember playing it a little from the store when I rented it but I couldnt really get into it since I never knew where to go so I only played it a little.
I generally got into the Koei games with Genghis Kahn 2 and RotK 6.
After that I went back and played the Nobunaga Games starting with the old mega drive version and then later on the ps2 ones.

Huh what a coincidence ROTK 6 was actually the first Koei game I ever played and it was what got me reading the ROTK novel and to play pretty much everything that Koei released in the west (plus some stuff that never came out outside of japan).
6 is also still my 3rd favorite ROTK game (7 being 2nd and 9 being the best in my opinion), such a great game.

I played Ghenghis Kahn 2 a ton back on snes but it was RotK 6 that got me hooked on strategy games by Koei.
That game is still one of the best and most fun games ever made with also some of the most badass music in a game, the main theme of Wei was bad ass.
Edit: Added the music if anyone wants to hear the songs.
