There's also Heaven and Earth (Ten to Chi to) About the life of Uesugi Kenshin.
Gotta look for that Fuurin Kazan after I finish that Kanbei drama. Thank yuo

Be warned each episode is cut into 3 parts, a bit annoying but you get used to it. ;)
Well noted, thanks.
I really like the guy who play as Hideyoshi, especially when Nobunaga die, his crying scene is so thrilling...
The guy who play as the Master of Kuroda clan is also good. (Kodera Masamoto)
You will see his funny, twisting, and hating act... you will hate him as much as you hate Joffrey from Game of Throne lol.
It still puzzles me, why would they make a drama about Naoe Kanetsugu, but not Uesugi Kenshin?
I think there are too many dramas and films about Kenshin, this time they want to focus on his descendants.
Kanetsugu follow his lecture on the love to the people.
Kagekatsu follow his lecture on righteous and justice.
These lessons help Uesugi survive through Toyotomi reign, then Tokugawa and until now. The Uesugi is still alive until today.
I've seen films about him yeah, but I haven't seen dramas about Kenshin. Could you recommend some good dramas about him?
Have you seen Heaven and Earth? it's about Kenshin, with some brilliant battle scenes between the Uesugi and the Takeda.
He's called by his true name of Kagetora in the film though so that could be confusing at first.
Also, give Tenchijin a try, Kanetsugu became one of the most interesting figures of the era to me after seeing this.
Also Kenshin shows up in Fuurin Kazan but it's an interesting take on him, almost like a fiery zealot.

I've seen all of them...
Like I've said, I don't think Kenshin has any Taiga drama about him at all.
The story of the Sengoku period is very fragmented and so is the narrative surrounding it.
Unlike the Three Kingdoms period, there isn't one single popular canon either, just small bits of Edo folklore and some 20th century novels.
That's how the traditional narrative goes though, Xiahou Dun and Xiahou Yuan aren't fleshed out characters in the novel either and one could also argue that, while being popular, they're not the most important Wei generals history-wise.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan who would have loved to see every historical event and character included too, but realistically speaking it would have been impossible to make such a modern adaptation even with two hundred episodes.
The old 1994 tv series is still good if you're looking for something completely faithful to novel anyway.
That said, TK2010 had many highs and lows, but some absolutely brilliant episodes it has make it completely worth it to check out.
Also, how can you not love Chen Jianbin and Ni Dahong performances?
Most of the recent Taiga Drama are about the Sengoku period
In the last ten years we had Komyo ga Tsuji (available subbed), Fuurin Kazan (available subbed), Tenchijin (available subbed), Gou (available subbed) and the already cited Gunshi Kanbee.
Sanadamaru will air next January after the ending of Hana Moyu.
Older series available in English includes Toshiie and Matsu, Takeda Shingen, Nobunaga (this one in VHS-rips only unfortunately) and Aoi Tokugawa Sandai.
Outside of NHK there are also many other shorter series and tv specials, but most of the aren't subbed.
Some of the ones available in English are Tenka wo totta otoko, Oda Nobunaga (the one with Ken Watanabe, very fun and highly recommended), Onna Nobunaga (ok, this one is just silly) Akechi Mitsuhide - The man God hated and Oda Nobunaga - The Fool Who Conquered Japan.
And of course, there are dozens of movies too...
The real issue is that even when something is available subtitled it's a pain (or almost impossible) to get it, most of the stuff is behind private trackers.
The seventh Taiga Drama (1969 quite some time ago) was about him and it was also based on Ten to Chi to.
I guess that there aren't many books about Kenshin and NHK doesn't like to repeat itself (especially considering how recent Tenchijin and Fuurin Kazan also are).
