Nene event Theories

Hey, I'm going to need some help with this, but hopefully it'll resolve a lot of the issues for various people who might be attempting a 'birth of nobunaga' or 'viper of mino' playthrough and confused or frustrated at the nene event. (Hideyoshi and nene marriage)...

Or if anybody's figured it out, please disprove me. Sorry for being a doofus in this case ^^;;

Anyway theorized conditions:

Hideyoshi Must be recruited as a ronin (I think there's a specific year. 1551 or 1552).
Maeda Toshiie must be recruited.
Matsu Marriage event must have occured.
Historical Quest Battle of Okehazama must not have been completed.
It will occur on Jul 1561 (theoratically, based on a recent guide which gave tips for full gallery completion). [not very sure]
Maeda, Matsu and Hideyoshi in Kiyosu.

When i was writing the guide , i completed the battle of okehazama and waited til l1562 but the event didn't occur.

If i wait, the event occurs at Jul 1561.

Tried another playthrough using different clan. As usual, "The Battle of Okehazama" world event occurs. I waited til Jul 1561 and the event did occurs as a World Event.

I think there's one or two more hidden requirements for this event to occurs but can't exactly pinpoint them.

On another note, I reread "Taiko", the event did occurs after "The Battle of Okehazama".

whoa, mate thanks a lot! but wait. did you start at the battle of okehazama or you started from an earlier point?

and hmmm.. do you know of the hidden requirements? because I started from viper of mino, and since then the event hasn't occured... ;__;

i tried many things tbh. Generally, when i start a scenario, i tried to see how far it can go without 'breaking'. and for this case however, the event never happened if i started at earlier point before "Battle of Okehazama"

If I know the hidden requirements , I would have mentioned it in my guide, lol.

"Taiko" is a novel about sengoku era in general and about Toyotomi HIdeyoshi's life in particular (from his birth , childhood up until his rise as Nobunaga's successor). Here's the

Pretty old topic, but I encountered this now when I played Oda from "Viper of Mino" in 1542, until 1551 when the event should trigger in July but didn't.

I scoured through Japanese sites, and it seems that starting from any scenario earlier than the "Battle of Okehazama", if you do the Toshiie Maeda 2-year ronin quest, when he returns, he and Matsu lose their spousal status (a bug ), which is one of the requirements, and hence the Hideyoshi/Nene event won't trigger.

There aren't any patches so far, so I don't think it'll ever get fixed, unfortunately.

Good news! I found a workaround using a memory editor (Artmoney), similar to CheatEngine etc.

I was able to set Toshiie and Matsu's spousal status back and the Nene event triggered! Very happy, since it took me a large part of a couple of days to figure out how.

I'll write up on how to do it if there's any interest. Artmoney is quite easy to use, and I've made a Artmoney table so it's just inputting a few numbers.

Ok here goes....

Background: In any scenario earlier than Battle of Okehazama, doing Toshiie's Struggle quest for Oda makes Toshiie and Matsu lose their married spousal status (bug), which is a requirement for the Nene event to trigger in July-August 1561.
Starting in scenario "Battle of Okehazama" Toshiie has lost his "Eccentric" trait, hence "Toshiie's Struggle" is deemed past/done.

First of all memory editing is risky, if you don't know what you are doing you can mess up your current save, make sure you use a new save slot to test.

Tool needed: Artmoney from artmoney.ru - it is a memory editor, basic edition is free

Artmoney table, get it from http://www.filedropper.com/toshiiematsu

Steps:
Install Artmoney and get the toshiiematsu table I created.

Start up SoI and start a new game as Oda in the Battle of Okehazama scenario. Take note of Kiyosu's Population.

Alt-Tab to desktop and run Artmoney, in the "Select process" drop-down, choose the game process Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence.
In the "Table" menu, Load the toshiiematsu table.

Search for "Exact Value", under "Type" make sure "Integer 4 bytes" is ticked. In the "Value" field input Kiyosu's population.

Select the first search result in the left side. Select the "Kiyosu Population" field in the table on the right side and press Alt+A (auto apply offset command)

The table should now show Toshiie and Matsu's name and stats correctly. Take note of the values in the two Spousal Status fields, Integer 4 bytes.

Load the savegame you want to fix, input the Spousal Status values into the fields, which should be 0 in your save. Go back into the game, see Toshiie's and Matsu's officer pages and check if they have each other as spouse.

Save in a new slot if there are no problems.

In July-August 1561 the Nene event should be able to trigger. Latest should be some time in 1563 if your save is already past 1561.

wait would it be possible to edit a name? ( cough, fix the name bug issue with maidens?)

Yes, I think it should be possible.

Simply use the same table, but search for "Sequence of values", 4 values in total, Type Integer 1 byte, search for the maiden's base* LEA/VAL/INT/POL in that order, then select the search result on the left, select the LEA field on the right and Alt+A.

*important- Base stat means without the +1~20 from experience

You should be able to edit the name field, though I found the name field for officers I haven't tried messing about with the names.

There are actually 3 name fields, I only included the First name and Last name fields in to avoid confusion for this table. The third field is for "True" names, which shows if you change the name options i.e. Takenaka Hanbei will show as Takenaka Shigeharu if you change the show "real" names option on.

got you thanks, Well at least now there is a way to fix the issue. No thanks to koei. I wonder if it would be possible to make a fan made patch to just flat out fix those issues.

Note that you can also search for "Matsu" or "Toshiie" (case sensitive) using Integer 4 bytes but tick the checkbox for "text" and auto apply the appropriate result to Matsu or Toshiie's name field.
