Asakura Clan
Generally if im playing in the area i play as the Azai. Is there any reason to try the Asakura? Do they have any interesting officers or something cause they seem pretty bad as a whole :/

I played for a while as the Asakura. They are a pretty fun clan in my opinion, and Soteki is a pretty good general when you go out to wage war. They're also in a pretty nice place for comfortable expansion. They have their south covered by a large, tricky to traverse mountain range, leaving them practically safe to expand either north towards Noto or south/west into the Kinai region.

i advise u to crush a few clans near northern kyoto like takeda and yamana then expand southward to try crush tsuitsui. meanwhile u wanna keep a good relationship with your honganji neighbour. as you crush your way through try establish puppets, clans like besso, akamatsu, hatano will sure flock to submission. At this time u can try deal with oda with azai's help.

Echizen has a large number of fortresses with a relatively high population. This enables Asakura to command a larger number of troops than its neighbors from the beginning. Due to the Asakura-Asai alliance and the fact that the neighbors on the west is weak, it is tempting to expand toward West. However, Asakura isn't strong enough to dominate Kansai region and its kinship with Ashikaga Shogunate will also complicate the matter further in some scenarios.

Once Oda-Azai marriage alliance forms, you will find that Azai will expand rapidly along with Oda expansion in Kansai in many cases. Before this happens, Asakura needs to build up enough strength to stop Oda exdpansion and dominate Kansai region. To achieve this objective, it is best to go East and dominate Hokuriku region(Echizen, kaga, Ecchu, Noto) as early as possible preferably before Uesugi expansion in Ecchu.
