How to get speed

Hey all

Decent game, but how do you get speed with yout bike ? I seem to keep lacking the speed to pull of the stunts... at the moment the only speed I have is from pressing A and gravity ... tried tapping A fast or other buttons but i don't seem to get high enough velocity :(

with 360 controller you use the left stick and push it in the right to get speed and left to get a height boost

That cant be right... all it tells you in the tutorial is to push 'A' to get speed. I've tried using the left stick as you've said and it doesn't seem to really do anything. It also makes pre-empting backflips and such a nightmare.

Afraid its little things like this, and the total lack of indicators on certain things (DO AN ICEPICK or some other move they never tell you about, nor is in the trick list...) that kinda killed this game already for me.

yup, they screwed up with the game due to these points.

yep. I'm using an xbox 360 controller. I used to be able to speed boost with left stick right and height boost with left stick left just before takeoff as Bmikes says above. This no longer works. It is not mentioned in the tutorial anymore either.

Has this been identified as a bug? Or has it just been removed from the game?

Same problem here, started to play today. At Lvl8 from the basic levels and all further wont work for me due to a lack of speed

Yikes.
Cant believe this was never addressed. Completely forgot about this game because like I said in my comment the control flaws and lack of explanations ruined it and I never came back.

Just read this ... Refund time :/ Curve if your reeading this ... no one is going to but the ver 2 of this game if u cannot fix the basic controls in the 1st one :/

Yea there is nothing wrong with game. You hold "A" to pedal, then release a apex of jump, then you hold "A" to start falling down, but have to do it smoothly with the landing.. otherwise you lose all your speed. i just redownloaded and it played normal as i did years ago.

The speed all comes from the pump timing leaving the jump to catching the landing so just before you leave the lip reach peak high hold pump catch the lip right near the top or close enough to gain your speed for the next jump, all trial and error for getting the feel for it, not hard at all, you'll get it in no time.
