Why should I pay $20 for a Temple Run Rippoff loaded with Microtransactions?
As the title says, why should I pay $20 for a Temple Run Rippoff loaded with Microtransactions? Looking at the previews and reviews of this game and it seems that it is little more than a Temple Run Clone. It's a fricken mobile game FTP style infinite runner so what's with the ridiculous price?

It's not a 'Temple Run Rip[p?]off.' Read the reviews, try it out. Everyone I've showed it to has been impressed. Maybe not the Tron game we wanted, but maybe it was the Tron game that fits the bill, right now.
Confused about the microtransaction thing... If you mean the Bit upgrades, you earn more of by completing the levels. It doesn't cost real money, no worries.

You do realize endless runners weren't invented by Temple Run, yes? Hell, Space Harrier was an endless runner and that's an arcade cabinet from 1985.

This game would be impossible to run and play on a mobile device, it has fairly complicated controls and would be very demanding on the graphics end. I have yet to find any need to buy in game bits, you earn plenty by playing the game, that's just in there as a shortcut.

Ultimately though, no one will convince you why you should pay $20 on this, you've clearly made up your mind from the original post. So, what was the point? I guess you just want to argue.

yes i do... Its just that Temple Run is the most commonly associated game with the genre. My point is that $20 a bit much to be asking for the game ESP with the presence of microtransactions.

If you're a Tron fan or if you're simply into runner games, this is a good one. Updates are constant and the game is evolving.

I am actually into both and i still think its a bit much to ask for a mobile style runner game with microtransactions. $10 is about the most i would pay for something like this.

It's definitely on the pricey side for an auto-runner, so you'll have to just weigh up how badly you want it.

To the game's credit, it does offer a nice selection of hand-built levels for both the on-foot and light cycle modes in addition to the "infinite" stream mode, so you're getting more content than most mobile auto-runners. The visuals are also a nice step up from most mobile fare.

Stop thinking it's a temple run clone, it has nothing in common with it, seriously! This isn't a mobile game it can't run on a phone, this is a REAL PC GAME!

Additionally, there are actually microtransactions in the game. Took this screenshot about five minutes ago: http://i.picpar.com/ayIb.jpg.

The microtransactioins can cost real money if you want to just add a ton of Bits before playing. Otherwise, you collect on average 100+ Bits per level, quickly racking them up so any real purchase is unnecessary. You can get through the levels fine without them.

The quality itself, in both design and soundtrack, is worth much more than a mobile game. In the end, your purchase is up to you, regardless of the amount of negativity you wish to spread about it. Cheers.

This "microtransaction" or whatever you call it is about 0.00002% of the game itself and I NEVER USED IT AND I FINISHED ALL CURRENT LEVELS IN THE GAME, you're judging the game too fast! It's a real game not a mobile game, buy it and you'll see, it's not good rated on Steam for nothing, have faith in users! PLAY IT BEFORE TALKING!

maybe once the price comes down... THAT is my main contention with it.

Maybe should have gotten the early access when it was $10? The game showed promise from the start and proves to be more than just a "Temple Run" clone. It's probably the best runner game right now. The microtransactions are so insignificant to the game, nothing will ever force you to buy the optional money boosts unless you want to. $20 dollars is a fair price for the amount of content it has so far since the initial early access.

i didn't even know about it until a few days ago.

If there are micro transactions, they're well hidden. If you need currency, grind it out through playing. After an underwhelming early access debut, I couldn't be happier with the final product. Happily bought the season pass too.
