Lan problems
so me and a friend are trying to play this game, however as you can guess, we cant see each other in lobby or games. already did the host files trick as well as the cd patch, we both have version 2.20, we also are connected in tuungle, now we did get to somehow see each other once in the lobby and it show us hosting, however we can not join game or even make it appear in the list. is there anything else that we havent done yet that we can do? theres also that other trick to enter in cmd that didnt give any error messages, but again doesnt seem to work. any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know if this will fix it or not, but make sure that if you go to Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings > Advanced (hit alt to make the toolbar appear if you don't see it) > Advanced Settings that in the "Connections" box, the Hamachi (or tungle) connection is at the top of the list. Otherwise programs will default to your real LAN.

Just add 127.0.0.1 dsiege2.available.gamespy.com to your host file.
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

If anyone has hamachi and already "fixed" the lan multiplayer
I'd like to test if it works. I created a network:
ID: DungeonSiege2game
Password: santipuerco
I'm not gonna be online for too long.

There should be a room created called "Test", with password "1234"

its a little different on windows 7, for that youll have to go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc to find the hosts file.

Either you or your friend has out of the ordinary or partially disabled options on your Local Network Connection settings. Check it in your network center.
Nanochi Aug 31, 2013 @ 4:31pm
no disabled options, we also tried games radar, but it wont detect the game, even when lead directly to the exe.

And it picks up the game sometimes with Hamachi? Ugh, so confusing. Have you tried a direct ethernet cable hookup?
Nanochi Sep 1, 2013 @ 2:48pm
well, I cant stream a cable all the way to canada, so thats out of the question.

OH! It's long distance...I didn't see that, sorry. Anyways, I know one surefire way you'll get it to work, me and 3 other buddies did it...Use a program called Tunngle. It's like Hamachi, but MUCH better. It auto-detects anybody that's in the same lobby as you and will pick everyone up as if they're connected via ethernet. I know it sounds a lot like Hamachi, but it'll work. Trust me.

already used tuungle, thats why i was posting this before, we can see each other in the lan room, but it doesnt show any games that we make, nor can we join them.

after a lot of work, with tungle etc. we finaly get the multiplayer modus to work. But we found out that there is a problem with the savegames. We were not able to load a saved game.
