Dont multi class, stick to one class and you will be a bad ass

In DS2 Vanilla multiclassing isn't bad at all, when u know what are u doing. For example when i play combat mage i always take few points in natural bond from skilltree of nature mage. Lowering mana costs saves you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gold for mana pots. Some people take points in ranger tree to get dodge and resists. Mainly it depends what team composition you are playing.

No, actually. I prefer the setting of Ehb but honestly DS2 is an improvement in almost every regard.

DS 2 party managment is severly lacking. You no longer get the options to automate your party's attacking paterns. Now you only have is mirror... and rampage... how lame.

Before, they also you to click and select many different characters all at once.

And before there wasn't a bullsh*t 4 party member maximum for the first playthrough of the game.

This is just my opinion here, but i dislike how much verticality the maps have. DS1 had more flat maps, so you can play it without moving the camera as much. But that's just how i liked it.

Yes, they have a few upgraded mechanics, such as a passive tree and active skills. But they made it more about a hack and slash like Diablo with party memebers rather than a party management game.

No, DS2 is not an improvement in almost every regard.

What do you mean? I remember having 4 attack modes and the AI did a decent job in either one. And then there is guard-follow in both games if I remember correctly. At any rate, it is definitely easier to get your party continuously attacking and / or focusing the same enemy as in DS1.

Attack patterns were managed via weapon / spell hotkeys and they even expanded on that in DS2 with autocast spell slots.

They also expanded pack mules into a whole new class of pet followers with unique mechanics.

Multiclassing got better support with the sequel too. Plus they added tons of new weapon types and more spells. Not to mention the skill trees and active abilities.

DS2 also has a obviously higher graphical fidelity (again I still prefer the setting of Ehb but that's just personal taste). They also improved story telling with more cutscenes and voice acting. The lore is also better accessible.

And then they added tons of new stuff to the world map like way points (many complained about the long marches until you find a merchant), more shrines and interactive objects. And they really improved on the puzzles imo. Finding the "Rainbow" in DS1 was awesome but collecting that bucket set in DS2 is one hell of an achievement. Which leads me to better sidequests...

And then they added crafting so you're not stuck with completely random stats on your loot. Did DS1 even have set items? I'm not sure about that one... Oh and my favourite feature: Controlling a party in multiplayer!

Seriously, I don't see your point.

Edit: I forgot the more elaborate boss encounters.

In the expansion, yes, but not in the base game.

Maybe i have a bias towards nostagia. I grew up with DS1. I played it A LOT. But never played DS2. They're really different games. I bet if it was made by another company and had another name, i would think of it differently.

Put it's a personal preferance, DS1 feels and plays better for me.

Edit: I liked the old look of the other game, the camera was farther back and for some reason i think it looks higher quality than DS2.

I definitely like DS1 too, for what it is. Personally, I enjoyed those exceptionally long journies. And despite the lacking graphical quality, the areas behind the mines are still the most impressive snow landscapes I've seen in any game up to this date.

This game really is one of a kind and not everything impression and dynamic I like about it made into the sequel (and infact none of them made it into DS3 wtf).

Still, I can't deny the technical advancement they accomplished with the second title. I tried to bring many of those back into DS1 with mods like new spells, multiclass support, a stash and playing a party in multiplayer.

Unfortunately, most of those mods don't work properly especially in MP :(

DS3 is a joke. I launched it, saw it was a totally different game. and closed it. never played it, never will.

I agree it was different entirely, but thats because it was made by different devs and published by a different publisher. DS3 was pretty good storywise, but it had no right to call itself a DS game. The mechanics and controls and mechanics were a mile away from DS1 & 2. But you aren't missing much if you never play this game.

It's like saying infinite warfare is a CoD game, CoD: World at War was great, infinite warfare... not so much.

I like this game but i cant play it, my pc clearly cant handle it. Fps drops to 10 or so. It's strange because i can play all new games without problems. Ds 1 is good but it is far too simple, it cant even really be compared to ds2.
