Dungeon Siege 2

Here is a Fix for the Mouse Issue + Widescreen Fix Windows 10 Dungeon Siege II Steam Ver.
Here is the fix that worked for me. Since i had to do a bit of investigation work on my half to get this game running. So Anyhow

1. Download this file https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1321-dungeon-siege-2-mouse-cursor-fix/ And then put which ever one into steamapps\common\Dungeon Siege 2 Directory

2. Then Make a Desktop Shortcut of which file you need, for me it was the steam one.

3. In the Target box for the downloaded .exe add this line (Without Quotes) "nospacecheck=true width=1920 height=1080 fullscreen=True vsync=true maxfps=120"

4. Then Open Steam, Right click on Dungeon Siege II and click on Launch Options And add the same line again "nospacecheck=true width=1920 height=1080 fullscreen=True vsync=true maxfps=120"

5. Last step is to click on the Desktop shortcut for the .exe file you downloaded, and the game should play in 1920x1080 with working mouse. Things to note. The Main Menu Will be pillar Boxed As well as the cutscenes, However Regular Gameplay and cutscenes etc will be at fullscreen/WideScreen without any boarders and the UI will scale correctly.

See Screenshots for working proof.

Here's a better Fix that doesn't require modding files. Just need the WineD3D Wrapper for Windows.

You're not modding files wut?, You're downloading a simple .exe That fixes the no mouse issue, And the Command Line which you can add through steam is allowing 1920x1080 Resolution.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but this download won't work. Any other advise would be helpful

dude when you say add this nospacecheck=true width=1920 height=1080 fullscreen=True vsync=true maxfps=120 what do you mean, add it to what is already there or replace what is already there? and when you say no quote marks how do you mean that, no extra quote marks so still some? in your picture you dont have any but when i cut and paste and replace what is already there it comes up with ''the name in the target box is not valid'' how am i supposed to type it?

This is what mine looks like after i added the line onto the desktop shortcut.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dungeon Siege 2\DungeonSiege2_steam.exe" nospacecheck=true width=1920 height=1080 fullscreen=True vsync=true maxfps=120

Hopefully i'm explaining this the best as i can. I've had so many issues running this game or being able to run this game, and i finally found a fix, and i just wanted to post my method on getting it to run at fullscreen 1920x1080p 60-120fps with the mouse issue fixed.

Hello! Thank you for the link and the run properties!. For those who want to do this simple, what I did was (I'm using steam, for retail owners, see the ps. at the bottom):

1) downloaded the zip file above, but only copy/pasted "DungeonSiege2_steam".exe into the steam game folder
2) there, I deleted "DungeonSiege2".exe and renamed "DungeonSiege2_steam".exe to "DungeonSiege2".exe
[ 2.5) did not create any shortcuts, nor did change file properties ]
3) followed the instructions at point 4.

It is working, of course

-----
ps.: for non-steam users, you do need to do my 1) and 2) with "DungeonSiege2_retail".exe, then follow Mei's instructions in 3. (you do not need a new shortcut, as it will work with the renamed exe file)

DUDE, you're a freaking G. I applaud you for coming to this board and making it dummy proof. Now I can play one of my favorite games!
