Help with Fencing

Okay I finally picked this up cheap after hearing people rave about it for years. It's pretty fun but I still don't get the fencing mechanics. Do you have to click on your opponent *and* hit the correct number key? It seems in most fights the key that keeps flashing all the time is 4 (thrust). Are you supposed to hit the the one that's flashing all the time or just pick your moves?

No, you don't need to click on your opponent. Also, you can pick your own moves - depending on the enemy's current move, your move will have different effects, sometimes negative - e.g. jumping when the enemy does a high attack, and sometimes positive. You'll learn what works - it's fairly simple. :D

If you play the easyist difficulty it will tell you what to hit in fencing and danceing. After you learn what butten to hit during the enemies swing animation and the dance animation when you go to devide the gold you can pick a higher difficulty or stay the same.

Thanks, I've gotten better with the fencing. Dancing without the buttonn help is hard, I wish you could practice dance in the game more.

spectate your dance partner she'll give you a hint ...she points in the direction where to go (hand moves) and listen to the music!

Sometimes the dancing gets bugged, like no matter what I do he stumbles on every move. Then I reload the save and it's fine. I've gotten better, I just look at the hands now and can get through it okay, even with a beautiful partner.

Okay the final fight with Montalban at his hideout is frustrating the hell out of me. What sword should I use? I'm about 44 in the game now, is that too old? But I have all the sword upgrades and took fencing at the beginning.

Well I beat Montalban, not bad considering I had an age handicap. Too me long enough.
