The guide looks like one of the best I read so far.
You should know though that if you're playing on a higher difficulty (Rogue, Swashbuckler) the enemy gets speed bonuses so a frigate, which the Ship of the Line is, is usually too slow to catch the smaller ships. On my latest Swashbuckler run I went with a Royal Sloop.
