Sid Meier's Pirates!

Sid Meier's Pirates!

Psychli Sep 7, 2015 @ 9:16am
Game Crashes Constantly
I'll be playing for 10-15 mintues, and I'll press the "map" key or almost any other key, and I get this error after my game crashes:

(TITLE) Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

(INFO) Program: ...Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Pirates!\Pirates!.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an
unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

(The Title and Info is just for my reference, it's not part of the actual error.)

Has anybody else had this issue? If so, how can I fix it?

Same. As soon as I get into my first battle my game crashes with a "R6025 - pure virtual function call" error for C++. Haven't been ale to play this game for more than 5 minutes.

If anybody else has this error like mine, make sure you make saves whenever you do about anything. If you visit a town, save. If you move like, 2 feet, save. If you breathe, save. Then you won't lose much progress if it crashes.

Sorry to hear that.... I suggest you try Steam Support (click "Help" in the top lefthand area of this Steam page, and then when the menu opens, click on "Steam Support").

I posted this here mainly because the game is a bit dated and I didn't expect that there would be any support for the game. I did (just now) check the steam support page websites, and they were no use. The first website hasn't been updated since 2010, and has no option to find support. The second website (Firaxis Games) doesn't even have Sid Meier's Pirates! listed under their games tab, so you cannot find support there. And lastly, the third website just leads to the first one.

I just assumed since this game has a pretty active community, and a lot of people have played this game, I thought that someone on this community may have encountered this error before, or may have heard of it, etc.

Thanks for the tip though.

EDIT: Grammar errors

EDIT: Grammar errors
Well, I used Steam Support for 1 minute, putting THIS in the search bar: "Sid Meier's Pirates! ", and the first page that opened was this one, which shows plenty of "SUPPORT ARTICLES":

https://help.steampowered.com/#text=Sid+Meier's+Pirates!&home=HelpWithGame

And after clicking the name of the game, a new window opens and then in that window, I clicked "technical support", and a new window opened which includes a link to the Official website for the game:

http://www.sidmeierspirates.com/

Please don't assume there is no help there. If you assume that you CAN find help, then you will find it, like I did.

The official game page is the first one I was talking about, and I still haven't found anything there, as the website seems mostly promotional and for the fans.

The steam support also leads here, to this community page.

And I don't believe you found any help, unless there is something hidden on any of those pages I looked on.

I looked on the 2K Games page (which was the third, broken, link) and it was no help either.

I found this within a few minutes:

I suggest you stop being lazy, and start using your brain. Bye.
