Audio sounds horrible

It has a high pitched crackling sound on it. I screwed around with the audio settings in game but it didnt change anything. Has anyone else ran into this?

I have this problem! You're not alone. I changed the audio to all three different settings and nothing works! Come on 2K, we know you can fix this, give Steam lenience and let us play this game we paid you for.

In another thread someone noted that using headphones fixed it for them, so after messing around a bit, I found a "Windows Sonic for Headphones" option under "Spatial sound" that fixed it for me. You can find it in the sound settings if you click on "Device properties" (just above the master volume slider).
