Have to agree. Tortuga is garbage. Turn based combat. No wind mechaniques. Ships can make perfect 180 degree turns on a dime. Just terribad. A remake of Pirates would be much better. Update the graphics, update the fight mechanic with a real one, add in a little more interactivity, better wind simulation... game is purfext for a second life.

I have to agree as well this game should be remastered if anything although as is it's still a very fun game to play thankfully :)

I've found that this game is very similar to most singleplayer sandbox games like mount and blade for example, and with games like that being pretty popular I think with such a strong foundation and a loving community a new Pirates! game could do well if anyone cared to make it well

This is already the update/remake :) The original is way older than 20 years and it has been so long ago that I can't even remember if I played it on a C64, an Amiga, or both. I agree though, yet another modernized remake would be nice!
