Yes dancing does suck hard and yes there is an editor that makes it automatic. I couldn't play without it. Get the editor that CJ made in the thread titled Glad to See People Still Playing This.

My problem with Dancing was that I was horrible at it and I just didn't want to try to wrestle with it. I found it very frustrating and it didn't fit in with my idea of being a pirate but it is so important that you really can't just ignore it. The game is very Disney-like in the first place and the Dancing was just a bridge too far for me.

Dancing is the most challenging part of the game. If you get the items and memorize the patterns it helps. My six year old son can do it. Actually, he is better at the game than I am.

The trick is most definately paying wholehearted attention to the governvers daughter, She makes the slightest of hand motions to advertise the next step. If your attention is even the slightest bit relax. your gonna mistep.

Other advise, is the music itself. Almost always, follows pattern of slow part, fast part, slow part. then fast. If your current steps are easy ones, be prepared for more complicated steps in the next stanza of music.

Pattern memorization isn't actually required, thou it does help knowing that steps left, normally are followed by right turns, and a few of the common dance patterns. Ultimately thou, its wacthing the governer's daughters hands. Explains why they fall in love with you. To succeed, you must pay undivided attention to your dance partner/love, and insn't that essentailly what every woman wants.

I also find that the different nations (at least in my last play), have different difficulties of dancing. I can almost always get thru English dances (easiest), but it took me a long while before I could get thru the dances on Dutch beauties (hardest). The last steps of the Dutch dances tend to throw me off.

The difficulty depends on the beauty level of the lady. It will also change how obvious or subtle her hand gestures are.

Well when I mentioned nations, I thought it went without saying I was comparing daughters of same attractiveness. Even in same attractiveness level I am noticing a difference. I have less issue with an Attractive English, than an Attractive Dutch, simply due to the dance itself.

At the lowest level, the number pad on screen will also light up for the inputs. This can help you learn the hand signs. As others have said, the more attractive ladies will give more subtle gestures. If you're good at pattern memorization then you'll do fine as there are not very many changing patterns in the game. If you go R L R then 2 right turns, the next steps will usually be L R L and 2 left turns. And so on. OR you can start with the romance specialty, and take the dancing slippers ASAP cuz those will all forgive some missed inputs, and sometimes even auto input if you do the wrong one.

Other than that it just takes a bit of practice.

the fencing also piss me off cause of small crew mostly but yeah the minigames are eye gauging

It's owned by 2K so if they did ever make a new one every action would be a virtual slot machine that you can only use premium currency to spin.
