Sid Meier's Pirates!

Sid Meier's Pirates!

Any modern games like this?
I've just started playing Pirates again and thought my gosh there is just NOTHING like this today.

No there aren't any games like this, at all, im hoping skull & bones will be turned into something like this with its delays since it seems perfect for it, mostly in a boat, more engaging ship combat, just add a twist of hoodoo and sea monsters plus whatever you can do on land and it would work.

but as of right now there is nothing, its all ether ship PVP, a "make your own fun" game (sea of thieves) or an RPG that pretty bad in terms of combat and no ship sailing

I just bought "Sink Again." Looks really promising. About to try it out now.

Sink Again was a no go. Not a lot of content and just lacked interest.

tempets on the other had has that feel of sid meiers when it comes to ship combat, plus the abillity to use magic relics to cast powerful spells on ships (like raining fire balls from the sky)

there are multiple factions (not historical) which include pirates, your able to sail from port to port to do quests for them.

obviously i haven't gotten into it much but there are these things called legends which i assume are powerful artifacts or deeds that gain you fame or just a lot of XP.

you have to manage your crew (things like having gold in your coffers and rum in the hold make them happy) there are sea monsters that can appear.

while boarding however the combat is very weak but you are able to physically move your captain to fight, the animations are.....not great, i'd say their worse then the Sid meier game but then again its functional so i think that up to personal prefrence.

the first time experince is a bit of a nightmare though, the tutorial is completely optional but you NEED to go to the island that has the acadamy to go said tutorials (some of which have you sail away from port to go to a spot on the map) to get the equipment you need, your relic and spyglass being very important as the relics are your spells and the spyglass lets you see out strong and what items your enemy is using.

it doesn't let you see whats what when you hover over things with your mouse, espeically on the main map, you have to click on what you want to look atm which has your ship move in that direction, its a bit annoying but it can be gotten use to.

over all...i think its worth the 4-5$ its being sold for during the sale

I think I'll give that a try... thank you!

no problem, if you wanting more land combat then the arena is where you will want to go, personally the animations and models feel like stock assets but it works, though only if you bring a gun, your gonna want to find one before you go to the arena, otherwise your going to go face to face with a giant crab that can move fast.

The October 2020 update to Sid Meier's Civ 6 includes a new multi-player scenario called, yup, "Pirates!" It's based on the original Pirates game, but is build on the Civ 6 engine.
I haven't played it yet, so I can not give it a thumbs up or down

I tried to give Civ6 Pirates a go but I can't seem to get it to work in single player. It's kinda janky. If you want to play single player you have to start a multiplayer game and fill it with bots. Unfortunately it's not on the single player menu like other scenerios.

I bought today, and I really appreciate it... Assassin's creed IV Black Flag was cool for me, but this one is a jewel... I hope one day they make a remaster

Funny I just shut this one down a few minutes ago on my Xbox. Unfortunately the resolution didn't age well and it looked pretty bad on a 4K screen. PC version is probably better because you can have the higher resolution.

Oh wow it looks beautiful in 4K. Did you have to install Uplay?

I gave Tempest a go. I think I'm going to like it. Runs silky smooth and looks great in 4K. Looks like the tutorial is a bit rough so it'll take some learning by doing.
