Worth playing today ?
Theres some classic games that dont hold up well today, mostly because of stuff like the game having technical issues or troubles with getting it to run correctly on modern settings such as windows 10, I have this one on my library but never touched it and I see it getting recommended by some people as the pirate theme wasnt fully explored in gaming well enough and I see this game being labeled by many as one of the best if not the best and I dont doubt them I just want some confirmation if its good enough to get into today or if I as a newcomer may have a few issues with it ? do you think this game is that good ?

yes it does end, when you retire. If you do not select it yourself the game will do it for you later. Buy herbs and salves from the vendor in the Tavern, you live to fight longer.

I think this is one of the greatest games on the planet. I have over 580 hours in the game on steam, but I probably have well over 2000 in real life, having played this game on CD and also the 1987 DOS version. Look up this site for additional content. http://www.hookedonpirates.com/forums/portal.php
A true classic, and still fun to this day. A daily driver in my opinion. Look up the 4gb aware patch, it'll help with mods. as far as 1080p gaming, I don't think the engine will support it, I've been looking for years for that. But any 4:3 aspect will work. WELL worth the look.

With their current EULA definetly not.
The price you have to pay for such an old game (which was one of my favorites back when I was younger) is just not worth it.
I would never support such data-/$-greed but I guess its up to each users individual ethic standard.

Is there any way to avoid agreeing to it? I really wanted to buy the official copy...

So you want an "official" copy without agreeding to EULA? I don't think this is possible, you know?

What's wrong with the EULA? They're only collecting some gameplay data, no personally identifiable information.

I'm assuming some people are just "rebel". Not sure though...

I've been thinking about replaying this. Definitely worth it, the gameplay is still some of the best I've experienced in a game. Just fun from start to finish.

Pirates! is a timeless classic. It's just so immersive, all action and there's a lot of strategy involved too. Also it's open world and challenging to play at pretty much any level because of the cut in the gold at the end of the campaign.

Some of the graphics could be a bit better like the pretty ladies. The game lacks customization options like playing as a female pirate or escaped african slave. The game misses the option to be played as a multiplayer. This game would be so cool to play with friends!
