Pirates works in windowed mode but not in full screen

When I try to play using full screen I get an issue where the bottom fifth of the game is cut off. Not sure why this is happening but it probably has something to do with Nvidia. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Edit: For anyone who has the same issue. If you have SLI disable it for pirates. Can't believe I missed the obvious. T^T

There isn't a fix for the misaligned menu but it isn't really an issue.

Best to edit in My Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Pirates!/config.ini

If your using 1920x1080 edit these 2 lines and save file then load game
WindowWidth = 1920
WindowHeight = 1080

Most older games are like this

I've tried that already. The result is that the bottom fifth of the game is missing and the menus are misaligned with the cursor.

Edit: Okay I used the steam overlay to upload a screenshot but it came through as if nothing were wrong and it didn't display my cursor so I can't show the misalignment.

Could be window setting in the ini i'll post what I have in my ini that is working full screen

My settings: I left out the ship and name setting don't remove yours, Then delete " fullscreen = 0 or fullscreen = 1 " line if you have that to see if that's the issue.

I also found main menu misalignment nothing to big it's only main menu for me game runs ok. If you do use 22 inch wide screen or bigger best use fullscreen = 0 in setting and resize to be smaller you may find game looks blurred in full screen.

The max resolution is 1280x960. I have a 1080p monitor (1920x1080) and it was working until instantaneously it crashed and would not load. It would open to a black screen and then minimize/crash. I edited the config file to 1920x1080 and then it would open with the same problem you had where the bottom of the screen was cut off. I then went back into the config file and changed it to 1280x960 and now it works. Maybe try that.

Okay lads. Thanks for all your help. You guys are the best and while none of your solutions worked I have managed to fix the issue. I swear I tried disabling SLI already and it didn't work but w/e. It was sli. Pirates doesn't like SLI.
