Then you should be able to defeat a level 5 swordman when your health is still good.
When your health have reach poor-very poor, try not to fight with sword.
For dancing, watch the lady's hands rather than just look at your keyboard.
After you have bought dancing shoes etc. dancing will be easiler.
We don't need to do 100% to catch a lady's heart, and it's just optional.
A lady will reward you with a gift or information if your dancing is good.
To catch a lady's heart you can also give her presents.
Even if there is a mod, it's not stable that what I believe. Difficulties, just play it from low to high.
---Catch a lady's heart while you're young.
---Complete the sword fighting missions while you're young.
Happy gaming.
a lot of people gripe about the Dancing, It's really not that bad (If you were ever Into GTA San Andreas, that's where my Dancing Rhythm came from) - It DOES help to get all the ballroom shoes, not sure how many variations of Waltzing there are- mebbe 5-8 but you do start to see the patterns after a bit
not sure what you're playing on, but my Laptop will give me a "Numberpad" Looking thingy in the bottom right -- a swordfighting one, one for Naval Combat (with the cannons, grapeshot, chainshot etc) - should pop up one for Dancing -- I actually use my Numberpad to dance pretty smooth - Its usually just 4 buttons and timing -- If those aren't on your Interface try the options -- but I'm guessing I'm misunderstanding what you want with 'Highlighting" Boxes
I've also beaten the game many, many times as all 4 Countries - any are good, kinda easier if you Aren't the Spanish -- they have the most towns and areas to Plunder -- I particularly Like to make Curaco one of my main bases-- Direct Raiding of the Spanish Main !!
also Find those sweet trade routes-- just cause yer a Pirate doesn't mean you can't make Legit Coin on the side -- also you want to get the best price for yer Plunder as well -- places Like St Martin, Curaco, Tortuga, -- a big Tip== the Havana-Key West Sugar-and-back Trade -- they're really close, really easy Profit, and If you're there while Spain and France are at war you can Attack both sides, yet somehow also get promotions for both sides, It evens out
also a Big BIG TIP -- do all the Family Rescue Missions you can, and Beat that Subordinate of Montalban's (dangit can't remember his name now.....Mendoza??) he's easy to beat, as are all the Pirate Bounties -- HOWEVER don't even try to find Montalban's Hideout -- I've beaten the game at Least 30+ Times (It's a classic of mine-- played a version WAAAAAAY Back on Floppy Disc!!) Even If you get to him when you're Young and Faster with a Sword, and most If not all the powerups, I have NEVER Beat that computer-move reading Cheating B ast ard - and I even had a few save files, where I tried again-and-again -- It's kinda annoying to never beat the "main" Villan, but you still get everyting else in game, and can Retire as Governor
