looking for help editing single player characters.

I keep trying to edit with the official tools(tank viewer and creator), but evry time I compile the save and put it back in the save folder, it acts as if nothing happened. I've tried editing both levels and XP(both in the same save iirc), but to no avail. I seem to be follwing the instructions too.

the only logical explanation is that steam is some how blocking either intentionally(like through VAC or something, though that doesn't make entire sense since I never plan on playing MP at all) or uninentionally(like if the code or whatever that allows me to play it on steam is blocking it somehow).

please help?

I've tried using it as well, with the same results.

I don't agree though that it is a steam thing blocking it (though I could be wrong)..simply because the guide to do this is on the steam forums!

Wish I could either figure out how to do it or find some other way!

The DSPARTY file is for multiplayer. The DSSAVE file in Single player is used when exporting to multiplayer.

The Single player game uses the two HEX files. In order to edit a Singleplayer character you have to edit the HEX files.

A bit more complicated. You need a HEX editor. I'm not knowledgeable of the details here so I can't offer more help, good luck!
