Being a mage I naturally gave her a sword+board. Am I wrong in saying this game seems easier with just 1 person and kiting the enemies around? She, as you said, constantly gets knocked down. After a few fights I thought I had the hang of it when an enemy didn't disengange when he made her unconscious and actually killed her. I didn't even know that was possible.
I'm glad I chose nature magic to use the most since you mention a resurection spell.
Can't wait to get it. I almost stuck with archery, but then I didn't because I'm playing an archer in another game of this genre.
Eventually "permadeath" becomes more an annoyance than anything because they drop all their stuff and the whole screen floods with item tooltips. And then after rezzing them they have to pick it all up again and often auto-equip the wrong pieces.
