Multiple player scaling in solo?
I would like to be able to play on Utraean Peninsula solo, but with the enemeis scaled as if there were 4 players in the game -- 4 player seems to put enemy HP at the same level as the single player campaign. Basically the same as the "/players x" command from Diablo 2.

Now, I did the Num PP Mod here: http://ds.gemsite.org/web/index.php/mods/GET/detail-136

... Which purports to do exactly what I want. However, it also seems to jack up enemy defense to massive levels, so that I do 1 damage to everything, at least early on. I played for about two hours with 3 player scaling, got to the crypt, equipped a Hack, and cast Rage on myself. 19 - 25 listed melee damage, yet I'm still hitting for 1 on everything, even Krug Scavengers and Phrak Piercers. Same with Orb of Fire and Fireshot, and it also affected single player mode.

Now, it's been probably close to a decade since I've played any amount of this game, so I thought I might just be remembering incorreclty, though it seemed unlikely. However, surely enough, after taking the mod out, I was hitting for 5 with the Orb and 7+ with melee swings on skeletons. So unless hugely jacked up enemy defense is an intended feature of multiplayer that I'm not rembering, it seems this mod has an unintended side effect.

So, does anyone know of a way I can essentially '/players 4" the multiplayer, without giving the enemies seemingly infinite defense? The only other mods I'm using are Killah's Steam fix, to activate LoA, and Fast Buff for longer buff durations.

To my knowledge the health of enemies is decreased in multiplayer but made up for in armor rating which is a bit higher than normal. Just personal experience though.

Ah nice, that there is a mod making the enemies in multiplayer less low while soloing. I am tired of playing the veteran mode through and getting only a half skillpoint for it. With more HP of the enemies I can better level up at the city I am.

I tested your mod a bit.
First I took the 8 pp mode. I can say you, that not only the resistance of the enemies is extremly increased: I did like 10 times less dmg than usually. The ressistance of the players is also extremly increased! I was standing at about 10 Droog with 200 armor in difficulty hard and got no dmg. Usulally they kill me in about 10-20 sec when I have 1000 armor in difficulty easy, if I don't heal me.
Then I took the 2pp mode. I realised, that the resistance buff is the same like in 8pp mode. So I think this side effect was not given by increasing the number of pp the game think to have in the game. It must be something else.

I hope this information can help you to solve the problem with the extrem resistance.
I would wish them to have resistance like in singleplayer.

I know this is necroing the thread, but I went on a nostalgia trip and decided to play through DS1 again and got annoyed with the solo difficulty (as I don't currently have anyone to play with)

I also ran into the same problem but I found a solution! The problem comes from the new damage and armour formulae used in DSLoA. The mod you are using just adds a modified formulas.gas file that overwrites the normal one with modified multiplayer scaling values. But the mod was made using a formulas.gas file from the DS1 base game!

All you need to do to fix the problem is edit the exact same multiplayer scaling values but using the formulas.gas from the DSLoA file as the template instead of a DS1 formula.gas file.

If anyone still cares about this, message me and I'll put together a quick mod on nexus mods for it.

Otherwise to do it yourself is extremely easy but does require tankviewer and tank creator to work since you unfortunately need to unpack and repack the appropriate .dsres files to get access to the formula.gas file in question. Since this is on steam and you must be playin LoA to have this problem in the first place you are likely using Killah's fix, so open the Expansion.dsres file with tank viewer, extract the world/global/formula/formulas.gas file then edit the file in notepad under multiplayer scaling (very straightforward its just a list of ratio floats) then repack it using tank creator and stuff it in the resources folder.

TLDR: The problem is its a mod for DS1 not DSLoA, I can fix the problem if anyone still cares, message me and I'll throw it up on nexus mods, I might do it anyway as its my first mod and I'm proud of finding the problem.

Cheers

TLDR:

necro'ing this again, but I'd like to talk about a very similar mod, in case you're already working on one Ashleigh
