Can't revive dead companions with resu scroll

Well, I did a quest and two companions died. I was kiting the hell out of the boss to kill it (huge level gap). Once I'm through and return I can revive them even though I am beside their bodies.

You have to place resurrect scrolls in your spellbook then right-click them and left-click on a corpse.

Or their portrait if im not mistaken. Also try dragging the scroll onto the portrait

You need to have a magician to make resurrection possible... don't you?

Resurrect scrolls can be used by anyone.
