EAX audio and Creative Alchemy on Windows 10

Why can't I use EAX audio(from Creative Alchemy) on Windows 10? As soon as I upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 a few years ago it was no longer functional. It didn't bother me as much until I tried playing Dungeon Siege with EAX support recently and couldn't use it in game.

The reverb effects within a cave or dungeon would have been great.

I did that already. When I try opening up Creative Alchemy I get this message:

"The audio device required by this device is not detected. Make sure that the correct audio device is installed properly. "

My original Acer desktop came with older versions of Creative Alchemy and EAX setups. It didn't require any hardware or dedicated Sound cards. But when I upgraded to Windows 10 it no longer works.

yea seems like your device is not installed correctly, check your original drivers or installation discs. check Device Manager for the sound card, because i don't know what your model is.

ALchemy works on Win 10, but it requires either a physical sound card or X-Fi MB3 or newer software solution to work.

I have an Acer Predator gaming desktop. It used to carry EAX audio on Windows 8.1 but when I upgraded to Windows 10, it no longer became functional. You don't require a dedicated sound card, just the proper software setup to use EAX audio.

maybe your upgrade to Win 10 removed the drivers because some don't support later OS anymore. try downloading the drivers or Sound Blaster Cinema from Acer Gaming site for desktop model, or contact their support for driver updates. i think you are missing the software suite or something.

if done correctly, you should be able to select EAX in game.

Not sure if this has been fixed or not, but if you do not have a sound card that is compatible with Creative ALchemy, you need Creative ALchemy Universal. I use the Razer Kraken USB 7.1 headset and Universal works well to enable EAX in older games like WoW and Oblivion with Side's EAX control mod.

Thank you for this Nartanr, though it seems to be down at the moment. Any chance you'd be able to share another way to get this?
