I already hit a game breaking bug unfortunately. When I enter the early game temple to fight gargoyles the game just sits there in the cutscene and nothing ever happens. Any idea how to fix that?

Is it possible to play either of the Ultima remakes in a window at a resolution greater than 800 by 600 when using the steam version? This would make note taking a lot easier when playing Lazarus.

Should be possible since it's basically a big mod, I'm on vacation right now so I can't test. What's the problem?

Actually when I went to test it I got the game to work! Though there were some issues with the mouse leaving artifacts on the screen. Would using the Steam version rather than the Aranna CD version help in that regard at all?

Use 16-bit color mode. Check the "UI/cursor flickering" section in the document I linked at the top.

I get too many crashes, aka exceptions, and I can't play the game at all. It requires me to log out and back in too when it happens, freezes my whole PC up. And it happens dang near every 10 steps in the game. Sucks. I want to play both 5 and 6 but it's just not letting me. Any ideas? I followed the guide you posted Genesis.

To fix exceptions. I have the mod installed and had both 5 and 6 installed at separate times. It's just that they crash and crash constantly and I can't get very far.

Make a duplicate of your DS folder for each Ultima, these are huge mods. Having even some U6 files while playing U5 can cause conflicts. I haven't played U6 so I don't know how well it works, but I was able to play U5 for 20h without issues a few years ago.

Both Ultima run on base DS if I remember, not LOA. Unless they have their own executable, I don't remember...

I did a clean install each time. Ultima 6 had an early gamebreaking bug where our party would enter the temple as scripted and just stand there endlessly until I quit the program. U5 just crashes outdoors pretty much less than a minute after I start exploring. Any ideas here?
