Freezing When Gameplay Starts

Windows 10, game loads, lets me start a game etc. etc. but as soon as the game loads up after the intro and when I try to move the mouse the game freezes. Fixes? lemme know.

yeah I tried running as admin and troubleshooting compatability. niether changed anything

compatibility mode for windows 7, shades off and texture from trilinear to bilenear works fine for me

Right click on DungeonSiege.exe and select Properties then click on compatibility (the second tab at the top)

I thought the game was supposed to be ready to play. Thats what we pay for, not to run it or make changes... not all of us know about those options...

Try using Combat Magic spell instead of Natural Magic!

I have the retail copy of this game and I've had to set up some options to make it work. Add this on the game's shortcut properties on the target box right after everything that's written: bltonly=true vsync=false maxfps=120. You can even set up the resolution you want to play in with width=1920 height=1080 for a 1920x1080 resolution. If you have an nVidia card you might not need to use the bltonly command. Also you must turn off all third party software and turn off steam overlay for this game. Those will bug the game really hard. Go to: User -> 'YOUR USERNAME' -> Documents -> Dungeon Siege.
Then edit 'DungeonSiege.ini' according to what the discussion here is saying. Make sure you get the video driver without NL.

Info: The init on the game installation path does not matter so much. When you change it, the game tries to change the init in the documents folder upon starting. The problem is that many antiviruses prevent that from happening, without even telling sometimes (in my case that was). That is why the video driver actually does not change sometimes, and the game freezes. So make sure you edit the file in the user path not the game installation path.
