Map differences?
I don't see mention of this anywhere so I wanted to ask. Are everyone's maps the same? As in they are not randomly-generated. So with time, if someone explores the entire map(tall order), that information can be shared and be relevant?

The map is procedurally generated and according to the devs would take decades to explore.

However, it is still unclear if it is random. The devs have referred it it as random, but it doesn't appear to be (if you create mutliple difficulty saves, for example, the maps in each save appear to be identical).

Would be good for devs to weigh in on this.

When I look at my map and at the one of the LP I'm watching, its defenetly different. Maybe the seed is generated when you install the game or dependend on your pc configuration so for you, its all the same but for other people its different.

Quest objectives are random. Not sure about quest start ocations.

Case in point someones screen shot of the island on which you complete the fairy quest is completely different (5 minutes walking) location to where I found mine. However the islands itself was exactly the same.

Hmm so seed being unique to player and most likely random? Blast, and I thought we just might be able to collaboratively explore the map, once section at a time. If anything, for resources.

I had a problem getting enough 'Blood Louse' when I thought this up, thought someone else might be able to give me directions to a "grove of artrees".

Generally if you're having trouble finding a specific resource, it's likely you've just not gone out far enough yet.

I find resources I previously had trouble finding later become abundant, this is as I travel farther as I become stronger.

Specifically in your example, I too had trouble finding artrees. now I walk past groves of them, heck I don't even farm them in my base gardens anymore.

Yeah, I've taken to just walking paths not yet taken to find my resources, and have also come to realise specific terrain conducive to artree growth that I didn't notice/took for granted before. Though now I seem to have another issue.

Does anyone know if there are specific instances when the epic Glutterflies spawn? To date, even when I was exploring the first biome. I have never ever seen one. Maybe my particular game instance is glitched or God forbid! Bugged. But my Glutterfly is the only tier 1 creature left that I haven't brought to epic status.

If you are starting to see the Womplords and the red tartils (forget their name), you are far enough out to get the Bloated Glutterflies. Just look for some grassland terrain at that point. Also, they won't spawn near the wats and generally won't spawn near the large tar pits.

Awesome info, thanks! Truth be told, after posting, I spent 3 in-game nights walking around and found 2, so thankfully, nothing is amiss! But because I was giddy with excitement having found them, I didn't take note of the terrain conditions. Although I did eventually draw the conclusion that they were to be found on the border between Wat and non-Wat territory. A thin sliver of border so to speak.

But knowing about the Womplords and red tartils does help tons! Thanks again!

Edit: Oh you only need 2 essences!? Hahahaha! I'm so happy now! Still solid info though!
