Questions About Pet Strength

Does pet strength at all scale to your level (well, equipment)? I know it's also determined by the size (physical size) and it's evolution level, but is your own level important as well? If there just happened to be a type of monster I liked, would it be completely useless later, no matter what?

I believed I saw somewhere in game that the level of your pet is the same as your level.

Off-topic: however, I don't know how to check Flux's level. Anyone?

Not sure how to check Flux's level, but the pet strength definitely scales with you somehow. I tested by switching between weapons and going from a tier 2 to tier 3 weapon increased the damage of my Wompit.

I'm pretty sure a pet's damage is directly based on your weapon DPS, like items.
