Game Crashing? Known fixes!
Hey, gang! There are a couple weird issues that aren't playing well with the game. Here they are, and here are the known fixes!

-------------------------------------------
If you are getting a crash with a weird error message about "Faulting Application" or "BEX", here is the fix:
  1. Right click on my computer
  2. Go to properties
  3. Click on advanced system settings
  4. Under performance, click settings
  5. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click "Turn on DEP for all programs and Services except those I select."
  6. Click Add, browse to the executable file for the program and add it.
-------------------------------------------
If you are getting this error:
FATAL ERROR in Fragment Shader compilation
It means your DirectX version is not up to the minimum (9).

For starters, rub some lavender scented oils on that kidney. It helps the blood flow, and it's quite soothing.

Also, what OS are you running? We've heard people on Windows XP having this problem, but there's not much we can do about that one!
Hello.

Ivent been able to play yet.
Windows 7. Directx 11.

Ive got the "Crashlands stopped working" error when i try to open the game.

@bscotchseth

I'm having an error where upon installing on Linux Mint 18.2 the game "finishes" installing instantly, and doesn't download or install any files. I tried verifying the game files, but no luck. Could you give me some ideas on what's going on?

Tried:
verifying
deleting crashlands folder and re-installing
restarting computer
searching for previous install files that would stop it (none)
Try to exit steam/ log out. if it doesnt work try to follow this:

A: Change in account to participate in Steam beta client and change the download speed then restart Steam.

B: Pause the download, disconnect from the Internet and try to play it offline. Go back online after and click update or install.

C: Try deleting Steam without deleting your games by doing this:

1. Exit Steam

2. Go to Steam directory and

3. Delete everything in the Steam folder except for "SteamApp"s and "Steam.exe" and "Userdata (optional, it contains some save games)"

4. Double click Steam.exe and wait for it to update.

Thanks to Skanderbeg

Thanks for the report, HJ! I'll pass this on to our game mechanic. We only officially support Ubuntu, but we will see if we can do smoething about this error.

Hello HJ,

Thanks for the report! Can you run the game while internet connection is disabled and see if the the crash gives the same error?

I could not get much info out of the log, as the ?? and empty parentheses offer very little clues. Given that Debian Testing's cutting edgeness, you might have better luck asking this in the Debian community to see if other users have similar segmentation fault running games.

Also, I am not sure if this has anything to do with the game being 64 bit, but just want to put it out there in case you have a 32 bit OS or need to install additional 64 bit libraries.

Hope this helps!
What is the executable file? Please reply asap

@Neptro We've had reports of some applications on Mac messing with the game and causing it to die for some reason. So far we've had people report Spotify and Dropbox as possible culprits.

For those seeing the DirectX crash, the game requires DirectX9 to run.

@Shroomix we've got that bug fixed in the next patch. Thanks!

I have none of these running and the game still won't load on my mac, have done opt out of beta and can't figure out the issue at all... help please!
