Also, you will eventually get potted plants -- these are super useful to farm since they don't require re-planting.
Indeed, potted plants are very useful, but as for farming, I don't think so....
Perhaps the devs could tweek seed generation for plants grown in dirt to provide more incentive for having a farm.
My impression of the game generally is that farms are meant NOT to be sustainable -- they are meant to have a quick influx of frequently needed resources. I think the devs are encouraging us to continue to collect resources instead of stopping as soon as we get a few seeds. I do think it's an intended game mechanic... since each plant seems to drop x amount of resources, and a seed takes the place of some other material.
@ehyder - *waves Hi!* :-)
@KatherineOfSky - Big wave back!
I really wish we could have sustainable farms, that is one of my only big disappointments with this game so far.
Currently I have two bases for the first and the second biome with 3 farms each with a 5x5 raster to farm with a harvest bomb.
-When I need the resources, the farms are to small to get a good amount out of it, so I need to spend an huge amount of time gathering in the wilderness anyway.
-If I want to keep them running continuesly, the amount of seeds I get from the farms are way to small so I need to spend an huge amount of time gathering in the wilderness anyway
In my eyes, the farms are not much of a use.
They simply don't generate nearly enough seeds to sustain farming.
