Well, sad to hear you quited the game. Let me tell you how to get out of that room.
On the backside of the gramophone there is a switch you can turn to the right or left.
Upon using the gramophone for the first time it will play the music backwards, allowing you to obtain the item.
After that, just flip the switch on the backside of the gramophone to the oppsoite side of where it originally is and the music will play normally and you will be able to get out of the room once the music stops playing.
