So.. Discussion. *POSSIBLE SPOILERS*
Finished it, to some degree. I was not able to open the safe in the one ruined room, and my ending was the... 'loop' ending. I haven't played again yet, and I seem to have missed some of the items. The jist seems to just be a repeating loop of him not seeing what he has truly drawn, and starting again. The Daughter also seems to have not been wrapped up story wise, or I may have missed stuff in regards to her. I assume the wife is dead, and he is using her body to make the painting... But I never read anything that confirms her death, so I'm assuming I have missed something there as well.

What can we put together here? Has anyone seemed to find anything about another ending, judging by the achievement tagline of "Witness all outcomes"? What do we know?

I still don't get how different endings are triggered, but I think that the final painting is the result of your wife's last letter (the one to the left of the canvas). Different words appear, chapter by chapter, depending on your playthrough, changing the meaning of her message. So I would like to see some screenshots of the letter, and the choices you took to make those words appear.
I don't have my screenshot now, but I got the "wife" ending, and on the letter she wrote she still hates me...

Just finished the 3th ending, and get the precious achievement. Here is my main thoughts on how to get painter portrait ending and woman with a child portrait ending.

Painter:
1. Don't let the creepy wife touch you even once.
2. Don't pickup anything, except the items required for further proceeding, especially don't pickup items that bring up memories (except ring in the 1 chapter, you can't leave the room without it, and six items that related to chapters).
3. Don't take part in any missable horror sequences (unless they are unmissable).
4. In chapter 5 take the lever to the cog room and use it instead of the chain.

Wife and child:
Same as painter, but with small differences
1. Die to your creepy wife everytime when you have a chance to do it.
2. Still don't pickup anything, like required in the painter ending.
3. Take a part in every or most of the horror sequences (or maybe it's even not required, i am not sure).
4. In Chapter 5 don't take the lever (you will lose it anyway if you want to die in the next room to your wife) and use chain instead.
5. In the room with a square hole in the center just jump down.

I hope i didn't miss anything, and if someone check's them - say if i was wrong.
What about pushing/not pushing the wheelchair with the lamp on it?

I'm back... did exactly like what captain marginal did for getting the painter painting but still I got wife painting.

Things to note, I didn't push the chair and I didn't pull up the painting from the pit in chapter 5... I also choose the door with the melted wheelchair. basically I just do a speed run and finished the game in 40 minutes.

Oh and I get a mouse as the code for the padlock in chapter 3.

BTW shouldn't we be able to see the outcome from chapter 4 onward by seeing at the painting whether we get the painting we want or not? since at chapter 4, I can already see a silhouette of a woman. And by chapter 5, I can see that the painting is definitely a painting of my wife. just in unfinished state.

When i got the Painter ending i chose the door with the Paintings not the melted wheelchair, other than that i did the same things and got the ending i wanted.

I always chose down(left) on the elevator too when there was a choice so i didnt die a single time.

hmmmm can you at least look at the painting by chapter 5 whether you get the painter painting or not? or is it still a painting of a woman?

What about other choices?

i.e. Pulling the paintings from the pit. Pushing the wheelchair/lamp down the hall?
eggzor Feb 18, 2016 @ 4:54am
I did not pull the paintings from the pit, i just went straight through the door, i didnt push the wheelchair through i just ran through everything as fast as i could ignoring the wife and doll/child as much as i could.

I did it quickest way possible, never died. Didnt pick up anything, still women ending after 9th play thru. Ill just wait til someone has a definite answer to get last two achievements. I enjoy the game a lot but im not loading it up a 10th time to have exact same end lol,
We've Got Bush Feb 18, 2016 @ 5:08am
I know I should have gave up a long time ago, but Im doing a review for the game and don't feel right reviewing it til i have 1000 score on it, and captured every ending.

Alright, got the wife ending AGAIN.

1. Did it "speedrun" style. Only touched/picked up things I needed to progress.
2. Avoided wife/any scary "events" that weren't mandatory. (Includes going DOWN (pulling left) on the elevator instead of UP (pulling right/ towards bloodstain).
3. Chose the "paintings door" as opposed to the melted wheelchair door.
4. Used the crank on the door as opposed to the chain.
5. Didn't pull the paintings out of the pit.
6. Didn't push the wheelchair/lamp
7. Followed the rat instead of going through the glowing door.

So, just as clueless as before as to how to get the painter ending.

Here are my thoughts.

To get the wife-only ending, you need to be "conflicted" in your "choices" in the game. i.e. If you don't do it ALL one way or ALL another way, you get the wife ending.

To get painter or wife-child you have to make ALL the "right" decisions for that particular ending at every "choice" that the game gives you to determine which ending you need.

Thinking of it, assuming that all collectibles don't effect the outcome (including past items), there are still a lot of things that we might have done differently between playthrough.

Here a things that come up to my mind.

Chapter 1:

Chapter 2:
- did you open the treasure chest with a baby doll inside when you hear a baby cry?
- did you choose the left door (with paintings) or the right door (with melted wheelchair) when you saw a mouse running pass the corridor

chapter 3:
- in the elevator, did you choose to go up (right pull) or down (left pull)?

chapter 4:
- did you feed the toy cat with a potato near the beating heart doodle on the wall?
- did you open the cabinet with a doll and a shotgun toy in it near the end of the chapter?

chapter 5:
- what did you get for the password for the padlock? (cat, dog or mouse?)
somehow I always get a mouse (and a wife ending).
- did you follow the glowing door of follow the rat after you encounter a dead end with a falling wood form the roof and a fire?
- in the elevator, did you choose to go up (right pull) or down (left pull)?
- did you pull the paintings from the pit?
- did you use the cog or the chain to open the locked door?

chapter 6:
- did you push the wheelchair with a lamp on it through the corridor?
- did you open the safe with a spinning top in it near the end?

That's all that I can remember of. I'll add more things when I remembered some more.

BTW can you avoid falling though the door on the floor in chapter 6?
